Another addition to her series of Fool’s Gold, Susan Mallery is roping in cowboys and city girls to charm her reads. “Kiss Me” brings city girl Phoebe Kitzke to the charming town of Fool’s Gold and the sprawling ranch run by Zane Nicholson.
With her real estate license in jeopardy of being revoked, the pretty and always helpful Phoebe decides to take a break. She is sweet, smart and a sucker for helping the needy with a gigantic heart of gold, spending time in the country and conversing with animals seem to fulfill her and make her happy. And with one hot cowboy giving her the looks, she hopes to find a person who can care about her.
Zane Nicholson has his life and hands quite full with his charming, nerdy and troublesome brother who lands him to run a cattle drive. He really has no time for a woman, but Phoebe sure makes him question his priorities and what he wants in life.
“Kiss Me” is utterly captivating, deliciously romantic, deeply emotional and makes you feel for the characters and the secondary characters. I loved the way Susan incorporated them into the main story, a sub-plot within the main plot, as she explores human feelings and failings, adoption and fears, insecurities and anger, and the sweet strings of love, family and support.
Susan Mallery is as always supremely charming, simple and beautiful with her narration.
