The much awaited “Ready For You” is out with it’s cover – Mia and Garrett re-discover each other!!!

Covers for all books are in general really, really good. But there always comes a time when you look at a cover and you feel all tingled, happy, excited, enamoured, spellbinding and so very much in love…..and that is what J.L. Berg’s third book cover “Ready For You”, in her “Ready Series”, does for me. The splashes of white, purple, pink and black, with the couple finally in each other’s arms, all tell a story within its walls – a story of regret, loss, pain and of second chances and of finding each other.

When her new life is turned upside down, she finds herself returning to her roots and the hometown she left behind. Maybe now she can find a way to heal from the devastating mistakes of her past.

When a chance encounter brings these former lovers together, passion reignites in a way neither is prepared for. Can Garrett move beyond his anger and find a way to forgive? Will Mia’s insecurities and fears cause her to once again flee the life she’s destined to live?

A full time Mom of two adorable kids, how do you manage being a mom, wife, writer and of course a fun person on social forums:

Jennifer: I don’t sleep!  No, I’m kidding.  Kind of ……

It’s definitely a lot and there are times when I feel like I am failing in one or more of my duties.  Sometimes I have to shut down and pay attention to my kids and leave writing alone for a while.  There are also times when Mommy has a deadline and they have to watch a movie by themselves.  It’s a balancing act, but I’m lucky enough to have a very patient and supportive husband, who help me stay sane.  Mostly…

When readers read your books, what do you want them to feel?

Jennifer: I want my readers to feel everything!  I am known for making readers cry, but I also have quite a number of funny and sexy moments in my novels that balance out the heavy.  I like knowing my readers finish one of my novels feeling an array of emotions, rather than just one or two.  That is life—we feel everything.

How do you balance the relation of editor, publisher and writer?

Jennifer: I am self-published (except for my audio) so I am my own boss!  But I do work with two editors.  Yes, two! I am anal when it comes to editing so I have two, to make sure that everything is perfect by the time a book is released.  Both are women I love and trust them with my work.

ImageWho do you brainstorm the scenes with in your books:

Jennifer: I come up with scenes for books randomly.  There’s no rhyme or rhythm to the way my brain works.  Sometimes I’ll come up with an epic scene as I’m floating off to sleep.  Other times, something will come to me when I am grocery shopping or taking a shower.  A writer’s mind is weird.  I think we only live in the real world half the time.

What was the most difficult part of writing ‘Never Been Ready’:

Jennifer: I hated writing Leah’s father.  He was a necessary character to her development and to the book, but I seriously hated him.  I don’t think I’ve ever disliked one of my characters – it was a definite first for me.

Now here’s my “Curious George” question –

How much of the erotic scenes are inspired by personal experience (tongue in cheek) 😉 😉 😉 –

Jennifer: Hahahahaha, you could publish this.  I’m not shy.

Jennifer: I’d say about half.  But the other half, my husband likes to re-enact, just to make sure they are authentic.  J

“What’s past is prologue.” – William Shakespeare, The Tempest

A prologue that had Declan and Leah get them embroiled in their own tempest of feelings and emotions.

The second book in the “Ready Series” from J.L.Berg is a whirlwind story of the arrogant Declan, and the sassy Leah. Declan, the cocky actor/director/producer finally meets his match in the spitfire of a firecraker and a darling nurse, Leah.

I have read J.L.Berg’s first book “When You Are Ready” and totally loved it. She set her standards high and sure enough her second book was a great combination of love tested, feelings explored, past revisited and went beyond my expectations. If her first book was a calm read as Logan and Clare journeyed into their happily ever after, “Never Been Ready” is a vortex of fast paced, roller coaster ride for Declan and Leah.

ImageSeveral times during the story, I caught myself catching my breath just so I can catch up with the feelings between Declan and Leah. The story was tastefully narrated and I so loved the humor between these two. The tongue in cheek teasing between Declan and Leah was refreshing and had me chuckling a lot.

Dialogue between best friends Leah and Clare tug at your heartstrings and so does the self-talk Declan has for staying away from Logan. As Leah tries to overcome her hurtful past that spills into her present, and Declan tries to come to terms with his past that blows up in his present face, “Never Been Ready” is one book not to be missed.

Thanks Jennifer for giving me an opportunity to read such a lovely story and I hope to be ready for your next installment J.
