Just when I think how can Cynthia Eden top her previous paranormal romance, she comes out with a fireball that takes us on fiery ride of unbridled passion, evil as dark as midnight and defiant paranormal who would burn the very ends of earth to protect their mates.

Cynthia Eden’s latest release, “Playing With Fire” is the third (maybe the final) in her Phoenix Series and what read it is! Dante the Immortal is pitched against Cassie Armstrong the Siren and we get a deadly combination of fire and control!

As the daughter of a father who is the ultimate evil to hold a scalpel, Cassie has a lot to redress. In the name of research, her father experimented and created soldiers of mass destruction with the mix of various paranormal and their DNA, unbalancing the very cycle of life and his daughter was not spared either. Cassie wants to correct the wrong and save the good from being devoured by the evil and she needs Dante to make it happen.

Dante is a mass of fire, an Immortal who can rise from the dead again and again. Devoid of any emotion and feelings, memories lost to many deaths he falls to, tears from a heartless Immortal may be the only cure for the virus on a rampage. But Dante shedding tears is not on the agenda and neither is him been drawn by the sweet voice of Cassie.

Fighting the evil dogging their backs, giving into the passion raging between them, Cassie and Dante are on the run leaving a ball of fire in their wake. Dante brings to light the reality of Cassie’s power and Cassie helps Dante remember that he has a heart and sometimes sacrifice is essential to save a normal human being. It is wonderful to revisit the previous powerful paranormal and their quest for finding a cure and peace to live a normal life among the mortals. And the epilogue was icing on the cake! Almost had me in tears….

Playing With Fire breathes down your neck, makes your heart beat faster, gets your adrenaline pumping and chills racing your veins. I don’t think anyone can beat Cynthia Eden in her writing of paranormal romance.

Its no surprise what a pleasure it is to read Lori Foster’s books. She’s been one of my all-time favorites for a few years now and enjoyed her stories to the hilt. She creates heroes with enough testosterone to give us sleepless nights (and not to forget hairy heroes!!! ;)), definitely my kind of guys!!!Her stories have no limits on witty and sassy heroines, protective and alpha heroes and pages of thrills, charms and scintillating chemistry.

Lori’s latest release in her ULTIMATE series “No Limits”, a partial spin-off of her LOVER UNDERCOVER Series, brings us up close and personal with Cannon and Yvette. These two are an extension from her “Dash Of Peril” story and have gone through a traumatic experience and time separates them.

Cannon Colter comes back to his hometown drawn by a surprise inheritance, and the same inheritance that brings back Yvette Sweeney back to her roots, bittersweet and painful at the same time. Cannon is the quintessential guy, who even as a teenager was against drugs and mans his hometown along with his friends keeping kids out of trouble and helping law enforcement. All protective and very humble, he could never forget Yvette and a cannon to reckon.

Yvette Sweeney comes back home after her grandfather’s demise and to take care of the inheritance that went to her and Connor equally. Once Yvette was infatuated with Cannon and now seeing him again, she knows realizes that infatuation is love now. Trauma and pain have taken a toll on her confidence and she wants to put a closure to those painful memories and make a new life. Brave and sweet is Yvette.

Circumstances force Connor and Yvette to stay under the same roof, and fate lends a helping hand for them to give a name to their feelings for each other. A super sweet story from Lori, with love and passion, bravery and courage, humility and friendship, can’t help falling in love with Cannon, Yvette and their group of supportive friends.

No Limits can be read as a standalone, but trust me when I say you will be tempted to go back to read where it all started and the alpha heroes of the Love Undercover series!

Delores Fossen is a brand new author in my list and “Maverick Sheriff” was a surprise package of danger, suspense and love.

First in a new series titled “Sweetwater Ranch”, Maverick Sheriff brings us up close and personal with Cooper McKinnon and his family steeped in a past of betrayal and murder. As close as he is with an ongoing murder trial that hits very close to home, he is a man of honor and integrity and he wears justice on his sleeve.

A chance meeting with the Assistant DA, Jessa Wells and her adopted son Liam, with a rare blood type, sets the ball rolling for a series of events of danger and threat that seem to tie him with Jessa and his past. Jessa is the attorney trying to put a closure to a decades old murder, even as she fights her feelings for Cooper. She loves Liam with her very being and would lay her life for him.

Danger and circumstances bring Cooper, Jessa and Liam under one roof. As Cooper and Jessa try to come to terms with their feelings for each other, they join forces to put an end to the threat hovering around Liam and Jessa.

This is a fast paced, adrenaline pumping page-turner. A definite enjoyable read as Delores keeps the suspense and thrill on every page, and it is also an introduction to the many facets of the McKinnon family, as they try to mend fences and give the past a burial, in the forthcoming books of the series. I am definitely looking for the next book in the series.

Within these walls is a story of pain and survival. Within these walls is a romance of love and sacrifice and within these walls are two people who had the courage to let go of guilt and find each other, to make a new life with each other.

“He wasn’t just hot. He was different. Different and hot were a deadly combination for all females, even for me, and that made him interesting. But love is not an option for me.” Lailah

Young Lailah’s been within the walls of the hospital more than she could remember being at home. Battling demons of her heart and waiting for that small glimmer of hope that can change her life, she is one courageous lady trying to make the best of her situation. She gives herself pep talks of encouragement within the walls of her almost permanent home and even cracks jokes to herself, about herself.

“Then I had seen her. As if she didn’t have a care in the world. She had been eating pudding without a spoon while staying in a hospital, like it was the most normal thing in the world. I had been selfish. So damn selfish.” Jude

Years of guilt and pain have driven Jude to living within the walls of his torturous heart. Once a happy go lucky guy and with the world at his feet, tragedy drives him to make a home within the walls of a hospital, severing ties with his family. A chance meeting with Lailah, spending time with her and becoming more than friends, becomes his salvation.

Jude and Lailah will make their readers shed more than a few tears as they get to know each other. If Jude bends backward to make it his life mission to fulfill Lailah’s “Lailah’s Someday List”, Lailah with her patience and positivity, helps Jude get past his guilt and hurt. They both make an endearing couple and you can’t help but cry and laugh with them every step of their story. There are so many instances in the book that brought tears to my eyes and I lived the pain and love with Jude and Lailah as I read the book.

J.L Berg’s latest release “Within These Walls” is one of the most poignant and courageous stories I’ve read. Jennifer writes from her heart, and Jude and Lailah are her crowning glory as she leaves footprints across the globe. Having followed her from her first book, “When You’re Ready” (Ready Series),  she has penned herself into an awesome writer with her latest book.

“Within These Walls” will leave an indelible mark on the heart of the readers!!

I grew up on folklore. I remember those early days of childhood with my Mom regaling me with tales of princes and princesses, good and evil and happily-ever-afters. I am a sucker for Disney movies and to this day, I relish and lose myself in those beautiful tales of love and romance.

Having said that, it would be no lesser a fact, that anytime I read about the Sloans in “The Crossroad Series”, I have a goofy look, a smile on my lips, sparkles in my eyes, flutters in my heart and sheer happiness in mind. One look at my space out face, and my husband knows exactly what realm I’m visiting 😉

FairytaleLove-Crossroad8-Aug2014Melanie Shawn’s latest installment in the Crossroad Series (Book#8), “Fairytale Love” brings Brian Scott and Becca Sloan to the culmination of their own happy ending. Childhood best friends, with no secrets between them, one magical kiss changes their feelings for each other, and feelings that both have been fighting to keep their friendship intact.

Loved the concept of the sexy Brian getting selected for a reality show to find his true love and Becca invariably ends up on the same show, with fate lending them a gentle push towards those circumstances. Pairing with different partners on the show, it was delightful to watch them go through the various competitions as they rediscover themselves through the eyes of love.

Brian is one of he most adorable characters I’ve come across with his kindness, his unconditional love and support for his family, his sacrifices with no qualms, he is one man with a golden heart. Becca is one of the sweetest girls of the Sloan clan and adored by everyone and a loyal ally that you can ever find.

Melanie and Shawna create beautiful love stories, with pages of deep feelings, strong and independent characters, steeped in love and passion, filled with the essence of family and belonging and a sense of security and protection. They are down to earth, simple and blissful!
