I’ve always enjoyed reading Sharon Sala and her Rebel Ridge Series is a one such great work, and not to mention the Forces Of Nature Series.

The Forces Of Nature Series is a group of three special FBI agents chasing the evil called the Stormchaser in the aftermath of a hurricane in Louisiana. Going Once and Going Twice are the first two in this series and Going Gone is the last in the series.

GoingGone-SharoSala-Sept2014

Barely surviving a plane crash in the mountains of Colorado, Laura Doyle has the lingering fear for her life. Despite reassurances by her lover Cameron Winger, she still gets nightmares and suffers PTSD. As she gets better, and looks forward to her life with her fiancé Cameron, she accidentally gets into the eye of the Stormchaser leading to a spree of killings with Laura as his final target.

As Cameron along with his FBI buddies Wade and Tate try to chase down the evil, the Stormchaser is weaving a web of evil with Laura in the center. Months have passed and not knowing how he looks is not making it any easy to catch him.

Going Gone is a fitting end to another thrilling series from Sharon Sala. A definite winner!!!

I am not a big fan of young adult stories or books written in first person. Having said that, I do read a handful of authors who have written this genre in first person and have enjoyed them. Did I say ‘a handful’ of authors, and I meant literally…. and did I also mention that I am not a fan of cliff hangers and stories going into 2nd and 3rd books…well then!

But the duo sisters of Melanie and Shawna make this work. They are making me take back all my inhibitions of reading this new genre and “Someday Girl”, first in their new young adult series, Someday Series, is much more than just young love, strong language or raging hormones.

SomdayGirl-Book1-Oct2014

Cat Nichols is headed to college. New life. New friends. New home. A life she can have, far away from loneliness and insecurities. Open skies, breathing the air of freedom, all far away from the shadows of gossip and masks where she can be a normal young adult. She may be shy, but she’s got a heart of gold and opens it to the stirrings of first love and its flavor.

Jace Butler comes back from the land of wars and for a young age, has demons that dog his life. A chance meeting with Cat, stirs emotions and feelings long buried and as he falls in love with her, he realizes that life is worth living for something as beautiful as Cat and her love. But the past seems to have a relentless hold on his present and his future looks uncertain.

This is just the beginning of a journey that takes Jace and Cat on its winding path, as they discover the reality of life. Experiences and pain will make them strong. Family and friends will have them question loyalty and support. Society and the world may drive them apart, before they can come together. Can they weather the storms of life as they grow and mature in feelings, and keep that tenacious hold on love and trust, is what the Someday Series is all about.

It’s charming, it’s real, it’s crisp, it’s youthful and it can very well be my almost young adult daughter heading into her story of life.

SomedaySeries-2014

Don’t miss the second and third, “One Day His” (October 2014) and “Forever Us” (November 2014) respectively, if you want to know whether Jace and Cat got their HEA

After Cynthia Eden, Donna Grant is my to go to author for some sinful paranormal, sensual legends, fiery protectors and smoldering passion. Her writings are creative and charmingly addictive leaving us heady and intoxicated.

I am fascinated with her narration because I can feel her heart and soul in every word she pens, creating some brilliant stories around Dark Kings, Druids, Faes and of realms unknown, intermingling old legends with contemporary lives, to take us on a magical journey into worlds unknown.

BurningDesire-DonnaGrant-Sept2014

Burning Desire is book#4 in her Dark Kings Series as Kiril, a Dragon King travels to Cork, Ireland, the Land Of The Dark, to search for a missing friend Rhi, the Light Fae. Knowing that the Dark Fae wants to capture and break him into revealing secrets guarded by the Dragon Kings, his mission is to get to Rhi, despite the sensual bait sent his way.

Shara belongs to one of the most powerful Dark families and her mission is to lure Kiril into the Dark lair, to prove her worth and get her family’s acceptance. But meeting Kiril brings out a desire that is unexplainable and emotions that put her on the fence of light and dark, right and wrong, loyalty and love.

With all cards open on deck, Kiril can’t control his fiery desire for Shara knowing very well the danger he is heading into trusting a Dark Fae, and Shara is ready to sacrifice her life to help Kiril be safe. Now it is left to the fates if Kiril and Shara can escape the doom of the Dark that threatens their lives to make a future in the sanctuary of the Dark Kings, the Protectors.

Donna Grant’s stories are embodiment of intrigue, excitement and fascination, making us ache for more, burn for more and yearn for more!

Kristan Higgins has such an aura of joy and humor around her, it transcends into her books. Her stories always leave me with a healthy dose of realism and warm fuzzies wrapped in a cocoon. Reading her books is one of my guilty pleasures.

In Your Dreams is the fourth in her “Blue Heron Series” and takes us, up close and personal with Jack Holland and Emmaline Neal as they pair up together to go to Malibu to attend Emmaline’s ex-fiancé’s wedding. And I tell you, Kristan did a fine job of sketching that &$*%$%# of a Kevin!!!!!

Jack is the quintessential Prince Charming, knight in shining armor and loves rescuing damsels in distress with absolutely no expectations. Since the rescue of four teenagers from a car crash into the lake, he’s been elevated to the status of a hero and is not helping him as he battles PTSD, and keeps ignoring it. Into this mayhem comes his ex-wife wanting him back, and he is one frustrated place in his life. Going away with Emmaline to the wedding is his way of an escape not realizing that, that trip is coming up with its own set of sweet problems and he seems to be seeing Emmaline and her sweet butt with a set of new eyes!

InYourDreams-KristanHiggins-Sept2014

Emmaline is the Deputy of Blue Heron, independent, sassy, kind and liked by everyone. Going away with Jack as her friend to attend her ex-fiancé’s wedding is one way pure torture, but at the same time she gets to know Jack well. The inevitable attraction lands them in bed together. As much as she blames this temporary insanity to chocolate and wine, she knows in her heart she is falling for Jack Holland. And Jack with his knight in shining armor does not make it any easy as his ex-wife seems to be everywhere, every place snagging his attention.

With his coven of sisters encouraging, butting and driving him nuts, Jack needs to re-evaluate his feelings for Emmaline as he needs more than a friendship with her. And Emmaline needs to let go of her insecurities and fear of getting hurt again, believe in Jack and give him her heart.

Witty, humor, sassy and unconditional support is what “In Your Dreams” is made of. It brings out the various facets of relationships and family as they bind you with loyalty, empathy and love.

I’ve always loved Shiloh Walker books especially her psychic novels. In fact her FBI psychic novels were the first of the kind that I’ve read and have been hooked since then.

Her Secrets & Shadows Series is another sinfully dark and dangerous series taking you into the tiny town of Madison, cloaked in dark secrets, overflowing with abuse and torment and trusting a person very well may take you to the doors of death.

The second book in the series, “Sweeter Than Sin”, (first is Deeper Than Need – Noah/Trinity), moves the story further along to Adam and Lana. Mind you, Sweeter Than Sin can be read as a standalone, but it would be so much more meaningful if read in sequence.

SweeterThanSin-SecreteShadows-ShilohWalker

Adam runs the only bar in the town of Madison, a torture he endures as he is a recovering alcoholic and hasn’t touched booze for the past fifteen years. He is one tormented guy with a past filled with pain and lot of questions. The anger, the wait, the endurance is what makes Adam a normal human being trying to forget a past that refuses to let go. He runs a secret forum along with Noah to help teenagers with issues and a forum that brings to light some secrets that have been plaguing Madison. If booze is one end of the temptation scale, Lana has been the other end of the scale that he couldn’t ever forget twenty years and wondering if she is alive or dead!

Lana is back in her hometown after twenty years of hiding, to make things right and bring justice to the crimes that have been covered under the dark skies of Madison. As she tries to put together the pieces of her past, the relation she shares with Adam is one that cannot be ignored or denied. Lana’s always been the one to protect her family and friends and would do anything to save a life. If Noah has a special place in her heart twenty years ago, it’s Adam who makes her heart hum and lose herself mind, body and soul.

As Adam and Lana try to make sense of crimes happened twenty years ago, there is a vigilante on the streets killing the plague that has been roaming the streets of Madison. Secrets are being exposed and the masks of some powerful people in Madison are been ripped off…yet there are some left to bring to justice.

A power packed story with passion and suspense riding each page.
