“There is no chance, no destiny, no fate that can circumvent or hinder or control the firm resolve of a determined soul” ~ Ella Wheeler Wilcox

With ever step he took, he felt as if this time….this time would be different. This time he would definitely find her.

Nothing was going to stop her from making this date. She told herself he would be there.

Liam Stryker and Aubrey Starr….

They had forged a bond within the dark walls of pain and betrayal. They endured torture and treachery with great fortitude. And both made it their life mission to save innocents from being lost to the evil that permeates society. Mercilessly. Relentlessly.

Two determined souls destined to be together.

Second in her Option Zero series, “Relentless” is a masterpiece of writing and narration. Christy Reece poured her heart and soul into Liam and Aubrey as she goes on this journey with them; a journey of finding each other, knowing each other and living for each other. Love is a very powerful emotion. It comes in different shapes and sizes. It’s about fate, failure, timing  and redemption. And when the time comes, these two courageous souls will have their day.

If Liam and Aubrey grace one end of the spectrum of her plot, Christy Reece’s design of a massive hive of powerful people trying to play God is another brilliant twist on the opposing end of the spectrum. A plot that most likely will be entwined into her consecutive stories and there is no dearth of imagination in her to create another brilliant and edgy story.

“Relentless” is a story of bravery and resilience, brotherhood and camaraderie, fate and destiny. It is also a tale of love and hope that solidifies the fact that when bad things happen to good people (and they do happen all the time), they can come out on the other side with grit and tenacity molding into a character of beauty.

I have to thank Jennifer Ryan, (one of my favorite authors), for recommending Jay Crownover with the second book “Unforgiven”. I was hooked and ended up reading “Unforgiven” and “Justified” in one sitting, and pre-ordered “Blacklisted” in the same stretch!

I loved the Lawtons as it is, but the tiny peak of Palmer “Shot” Caldwell had me waiting in anticipation to get to know him and the quite, yet resilient Dr. Presley Baskin. And I am not disappointed at all!! In fact I loved this story even more than the other two. “Blacklisted” by others he may be, misjudged and prejudiced by the public he may be, but all that matters is what’s in your heart, and the love and care of the select few you can trust your life with. Palmer Caldwell has a soul and kindness in abundance hiding underneath that tough exterior.

Palmer has the lovely Presley in his corner, and he never would have thought that his heart would actually beat with love for a woman. There is so much depth and emotion in this relationship, and Jay did a stupendous job creating these characters with so much thought and layers.

It’s a wonderful, wonderful book not to be missed. And now Jay Crownover is on my top list of authors to watch out for.

It always amazes me when authors/writers experiment different genres of storytelling with a mastery of writing and imagination, and succeeding in giving their readers the satisfaction of a book that would remain in memory.

As I follow the stunning series “Midnight In Manhattan” penned by Rachel Lacey, it wouldn’t be far from the fact that she definitely commanded this innate skill.

And It’s In Her Kiss!!!! A simple love story, yet a natural lifestyle with a complex array of emotions, fears and insecurities. Meet two broadway actresses, Sophie Rendell and Julia Vega. Beautiful, hardworking, ambitious and caught on the opposite sides of a starry role. Auditions, conversations, drinks and friendships takes these two women on a roller coaster ride of facing truths, jealousies, disappointments and hardships. But the heart knows what the heart wants – love, trust, commitment and unconditional support, giving Sophie and Jules a chance to love each other, live with each other and make a future with each other.

And what a luscious cover!!! Kudos to Rachel Lacey…..

I have followed Rachel Lacey from her first book and she still is on my favorite list. From her first foray into writing books starting with “Unleashed” to “Don’t Cry For Me”, she had an amazing span of genre that I totally loved reading.

Don'tCryForMe-MidnightInManhattan#1-RachelLacey-Apr2020

First in her Midnight In Manhattan Series, Rachel introduces her readers to the petite, strong, professional Eve Marlow, who owns her own marketing company as well as a TV Show. A show that needs some uplift and a new lease of life. Who would have thought that finding a litter of kittens would put her to Josie Swanson, a complete opposite of Eve. Josie who puts her dreams aside to make a living with the bar she inherited.

But then, opposites are meant to attract. Two ends of a spectrum are meant to collide. And Lady Fate loves to interfere in people’s lives to make it more interesting. Eve and Josie, sure have their work cut out for them as they navigate their fears and insecurities, prioritize their feelings and really reach out for what matters in life.

I fell in love with their courage, sincerity and self respect as they beat down the world to fit themselves!!!!

Rachel Lacey gives her readers an emotional journey as two wonderful people take a journey to a life they never dreamed.

A stunning read if you ask me!!!

“Let Your Down”, gal and #RubyGoesRogue, is just the beginning of an adventure for Ruby, away from the confines of a loving family, her forever friends and beating an illness that had her down for a while. And an illness that had her life mapped into organizing, spreadsheets, charts and itineraries. But it’s time to let her hair down and live her life. With an adventure  calling, Ruby takes the first steps to freedom, new experiences and Flynn Bowen.

LetYourHairDown-AlmostRoyalSeries#3-RacheclLacey-Aug2019

Helping run his family business is what Flynn Bowen does, but his heart and soul seem to have a different calling; for an identity of his own, making his own markings and maybe a dose of fate that brings him his destiny, Ruby.

With an entertaining story, engaging camaraderie among friends, an utterly charming romance between Flynn and Ruby, Rachel Lacey gives us another worthwhile read from her Almost Royal Series.
