The Westerlys sure are heating up the pages with their love and romance as they try to find their place as well as their future partners. I’ve always loved reading series featuring siblings, matchmaking elders, and families going through rough times despite being billionaires just showing that they are human as well.

The new series by Ruth Cardello, “The Westerly Billionaires” is exactly that and book two of the Westerly Heirs, “Up For Heir”, is just as enticing and charming. Self made billionaire and with lots of family secrets, Spencer Westerly is caught up in his work more, than playing to the fall-outs within his family. But then his grandmother is not one to give up, and with some help and manipulation comes Hailey Tiverton, the one and only woman Spencer had ever loved.

Life threw a curve ball in the young teenagers lives, breaking up Spencer and Hailey. Now Hailey is the guardian of her niece and circumstances bring her as the companion for Spencer’s grandmother. And the stage is well set for both these estranged lovebirds to put to rest the past and create a future.

Along with the siblings finding the love of their lives Ruth Cardello pays special attention to the chemistry among the family members as they try to mend broken relations, pain and betrayal. “Up For Heir” is another great read as the Westerly Billionaires steal our hearts.

Lindsay McKenna is one of the best military romance writers that I’ve come across and some of her books are immensely memorable and have revisited numerous times. Along with badass soldiers, she also writes some great badass cowboy stories.

Book 4 in the Wind River Valley series, gives us another glimpse into the life of army veterans, their service and courage, survival and betrayal, and the acclimating into the norm of everyday life. “Wrangler’s Challenge” is another such story of marine veteran Dair Wilson as she comes into the fold of Bar C Ranch, to start fresh.

Having lost her leg to an IED, Dair is so much more comfortable with the four-legged animals than the humans. There is still a black void in her mind as to the events that had taken away her team and her leg. And as the author say, “Healing like love, takes time”.

Noah Mabry is the animal whisperer of the Bar C Ranch and with Dair assisting him everyday, it’s inevitable for the attraction to reach the point of love. With the utmost patience and compassion, Noah guides Dair through her dark moments and when her life is threatened by a past that impaired her, he’ll lay his life down for Dair.

This was one emotional story of despair and trauma, support, compassion and empathy that gives these brave vets hope and faith that all is not lost in their fight to survive after war. This story is a testimony to the fact that there are people out there who care about others and who are willing to give unconditionally.

As always, Lindsay McKenna does another great job at a story filled with warmth, support, compassion, courage and love.

Who can forget the wonderful Whiskey River Series by Eve Gaddy? And any continuation of the series is an added bonus, and a perfect read of another love story in the romantic town of Whiskey River.

Fourteen years is a long time for two lovers to be apart, tread through different paths of life and come back full circle to where it had all began. Circumstances, blackmail and social boundaries separate teenage lovers Harlan Sullivan and Savannah Taylor. And now destiny brings them back to their hometown of Whiskey River, with Harlan buying out the construction company that Savannah happens to be the office manager.

Old feelings haven’t died, the spark of lust and attraction is very much present, and with the feeling of belonging with each other even stronger than before, and add in the magical season of Christmas, and “A Texas Christmas Reunion” is a warm and emotional read. Eve Gaddy did a wonderful job penning a beautiful story of love and support, relationships and friendships, the good and the bad of life, and add in a dash of the previous couples in attendance, and we have a story to read by the fireplace.

A new series, “Heart Of Texas” from Donna Grant brings us another enticing series of hardworking cowboys, their destined stories of love, redemption and a future of togetherness.

“The Christmas Cowboy Hero”, the prodigal son of Texas and ex-navy Seal, Clayton East returns home to take care of his family’s failing ranch, deal with is father’s illness and give his mother much needed hope of keeping the family business on solid ground and emotional and financial support to his parents. The thought of dealing with theft, a wayward brother of the enticing Abby Harper, and the attraction that flares on sight was not something he had signed up for.

Abby Harper has a hard life since a teenager, the sole guardian of her siblings and working hard to keep food and roof over their heads. Her brother getting into trouble with Clayton she had wished was avoided and the interest that Clayton sparks, she really could do without, not on her agenda and not part of plan.

But fate and destiny don’t listen to anyone, and with Clayton giving her brother a chance to make up for his theft, Abby finds herself spending more time with Clayton on the ranch, and the perfect opportunity to know each other and fall in love.

And so we get another sweet Texas romance from Donna Grant, be it a paranormal or contemporary romance, we can never be disappointed with her stories. With a perfect blend of emotions and romance, chemistry and an interesting plot, “The Christmas Cowboy Hero” is a perfect reading pleasure for the holidays.

I don’t recall reading Kay Hooper but “Rafe, The Maverick” was very interesting and captivating. The prologue of history was fascinating and the entire premise of the story sure was enthralling.

Rafe Delaney as the cocky, rich and handsome owner of Shamrock Ranch is just that, but add in protectiveness and loads of stubbornness and you have a hero hard to resist. The petite, beautiful and skillful horse trainer Maggie O’ Riley has only one goal in mind – to train horses on the legendary ranch and make a successful career. Getting sidetracked and falling for Rafe was not her plan of action. But with fate stepping in, Irish charm and a dose of sinister incidents, bring Rafe and Maggie close and with their hearts on line, they have everything to fight for.

A definite worthy read and am glad had the opportunity to read Kay Hooper, and now she’s going to be on my regular read of authors.
