……And Brooke Mathews knows with every beat of her heart, it’s a breathtaking transformation and she is in love with this scientist turned lover!

So sets the tone for Samantha Chase’s latest intro to the fifth Shaughnessy brother Owen Shaughnessy. Acclaimed and accredited scientist Owen always was the quiet Shaughnessy sibling, brilliant in his field yet ignorant of the gossip of the world, comfortable within his family domain, yet shy in the social glares, but all it takes is one nymphet Brooke Mathews to throw all his science out the window as his heart loses control.

A scientist versus an artist, absolution versus imagination, analytical versus creativity, poles apart yet perfect for each other, Owen and Brooke make the most beautiful and favorite couples of the Shaughnessys.

A Sky Full of Stars hi-res

I remember chatting with a friend a few weeks ago before reading “A Sky Full Of Stars” and telling her that this story would be Samantha Chase’s shining star of the series and she doesn’t disappoint at all. From creating Owen and Brooke, to being so very eloquent of the feelings of a shy person, to detailing the dynamics of the Shaughnessy family, she has done a brilliant job with this story.

The entire conversation between Owen and his twin Riley is the highlight of the book for me –

“You are a rock star, bro. No different than me-just in a different field.”

“Or don’t you remember what Mom used to call us? “Superman and Clark Kent”

“We are the same, Owen. You are just my mild-mannered alter-ego.”

And if this doesn’t tug at your heartstrings, the heart-to-heart conversation between Owen and his father Ian Shaughnessy is just pure genius. Do not miss reading one single word of these two conversations – so very emotional, caring, supportive and wish for a family as close knit and dynamic as the Shaughnessys.

“A Sky Full Of Stars” deserves so many more stars than what the night sky would hold and Samantha Chase definitely is shining as bright as the Sirius with this story!

“The Bridal Squad” is an extension of “ The Friday Night Brides”…both standalone, and part of “The Enchanted Bride Series. So rest assures that if you haven’t read “The Friday Night Brides”, you can still enjoy “The Bridal Squad” on its own.

Having said that, Samantha Chase braved going on a different path with this story. So if you are expecting it to be a pure and pure love story, you will be disappointed and I’m going to be honest here, you’ll either like or hate it. But if you are familiar with Samantha’s books, and if you trust her creativity, this story is a good insight into Samantha’s writing prowess, not only as a romance writer, but also as an author who has the ability to be eloquent about human relationships, emotions and experiences.

Personally I loved this story!!! Four friends, with independent lives, battling the daily upheavals of life, with a friend on the verge of marriage, as another is on the fence of getting a divorce, a sister who has been battered with multiple breakups and a wanderlust friend trying to come to terms with a steady relationship. So many dynamics thrown into this amazing mixture we call relationship, it makes this story even more interesting to read.

“The Bridal Squad” is as practical as it can be, and as real as it can get, with friends finally being open about their feelings, sharing their fears and insecurities, and having each other’s back, despite their individual personalities…..and so very relatable with your own group of friends.

“The Bridal Squad” is one daunting story that is rich in friendship, strong characterization and deeply enriched with human emotions.

Samantha Chase’s latest release, “One More Kiss” takes the readers into the lives of the rest of the Shaughnessy band, as they dismantle trying to find their own place in the cutthroat world of music. Each fighting their own demons, personal as well as professionals, it’s a “Band On The Run”.

Matt Reed had the world at his feet, before the alcohol and a Broadway disaster derails him professionally and personally. Riding out the storm by hiding at a friend’s place has an upside especially with Vivienne Forrester being his neighbor.

Vivienne Forrester always had feelings for her brother’s best friend and now living in close proximity only deepens her feelings. With her personal blog taking off and her love life getting on track, Vivienne is headed onto a life of high notes and low notes.

It’s a sweet love story from Samantha Chase as she takes the readers into the life of a rock star, his failures, fears and insecurities and the big role the media plays in making or breaking a person. And then you have the people who care about you supporting and encouraging as you try to find your way back with no guilt and regrets.

If you haven’t tuned into the “Shaughnessy Brothers” yet, you are missing another wonderful series of romance and family dynamics by one of my favorite authors Samantha Chase. Book three of the series “This Is Our Song” takes us up close to Riley Shaughnessy, the musician of the clan.

Battling a musician’s block, a deadline looming and with the label threatening his very career, Riley Shaughnessy is going through the worst time of his life and having a judgmental entertainment reporter writing an article about him is not his kind of music.

Stardom doesn’t faze Savannah Daly and neither does sexy and handsome rock stars. Or so she thinks, until she’s forced to write an article about Riley and ends up spending a month with him and his family. If you’ve read the Shaughnessys, you know they can be pretty overwhelming.

Another charming love story although I think Samantha Chase gave more importance to Riley’s angst, insecurities and issues, which is a welcome change, rather than a full-blown romance. You’ll read more of the family dynamics in this book than others, and it is actually pretty neat as the circumstances are created for us to be a part of the Shaughnessy family. And adding Savannah’s parents to the equation makes it pretty interesting. So be prepared to read more of Riley’s thoughts, family banter and interaction, and less of Riley and Savannah romance.

You’ll like Riley and Savannah as they go through the ups and downs of love, navigating the various high notes as well as the low notes, trying to find their song. This love story is more of Riley, and the Shaughnessys and a tad less of romance between Savannah and Riley. And Samantha Chase doesn’t disappoint, yet this story is very different from her usual style.
