The Dark Kings of the Realm never cease to entice us, dazzle us or scorch us with their desire to save the innocent, their passion for their intended mates and fight for peace within the various clans.

And it all seems to be coming together – those penultimate events leading to the big showdown between two powerful dragon kings!!! Donna Grant has written such an intriguing and mesmerizing screenplay of the powerful dragon kings; you can’t but be totally drawn into their love and war.

PassionIgnites-DarkKings-Nov2015-DonnaGrant

“Passion Ignites” wakens dragon king Thorn from slumber to fighting the Dark Fae and keeping the innocents safe. And in this battle he comes face to face with a courageous and brave human Lexi, trying to find justice for her slayed friend in a foreign land.

Protecting Lexi from the Dark Fae becomes Thorn’s mission and sending her far away by sacrificing his love becomes his goal that never sees fruition. With death dogging Lexi and the Dark Fae getting closer to their goal, Thorn is torn between his mission and his love.

“Passion Ignites” can be read as a standalone, but what fun would it is to read the entire series and get to know the history of the dragon kings and their journey from the shadows to light to fighting for their survival as they find love and friendship along the way.

I love the way Donna Grant makes sure that each book has a brief history of the past and connecting to the present for new readers. The books don’t have to be read in sequence, or read at all to follow their journey. But then who can resist these powerful Dragon Kings as they vow to keep their love safe and protect the innocent.

This is my first read of Michele Dunaway and her first book in the Man Of The Month Series; “Fan The Flames” is an interesting read. And the man of the month Brad Silverman will definitely flamed my heart!

Brad Silverman is an ex-Navy SEAL and now a fireman in St. Louis and is entrusted the tough job of taking care of his partner’s widow. A difficult job indeed considering that he’s always loved Scarlett for the longest time and now the responsibility of her and her little daughter falls on his shoulders, to keep his promise to his dead friend.

FanTheFlames-ManOfMonth-MicheleDunaway-Sept2015 returns to St. Louis to start fresh after he husband dies in the line of duty, and renting Brad’s home throws them together everyday. As they re-connect, so do their hearts and the attraction lurking in the shadows can’t be ignored any longer.

This is Brad’s story all the way. He is one of the most admirable heroes I’ve read in a while. With kindness and humility, hard work and caring, patience and supportive, he takes care of Scarlet and her daughter. Even as guilt rides him for losing his partner, he is man enough to address them and tries hard to overcome. Michele Dunaway did a super fine job creating Brad Silverman to his perfect imperfection. I just loved him.

“Fan The Flames” will keep you interested and Michele Dunaway does a good job with narration and creating a good love story. I hope she gives a bit more strong and interesting caricature to her heroines in her future stories.

I am not sure what exactly was the trigger that took my interest away from this book. This is the first book in my reading history that took me more than a month in trying to finish it….trying been the operative word! To me the characters are important as much as the narration and the way the story falls into place. This is one of those books where the characters were just not in my wavelength.

MissMatch-LaurelinMcGee-Jun2015

Andrea Dawson as the matchmaker just did not click with me. Her character was too sketchy and immature for a role of a matchmaker. Despite her redeeming qualities like her wit and reading people, she just did not cater to my reading pheromones.

Blake Donovan is one of the worst characters sketched. For a millionaire and a businessman, he is too childish and immature. He absolutely has no idea what he wants, and I have no clue what Blake’s hang-ups are for him to behave like a jerk.

Language and the plot of “Miss Match” are pretty good, unfortunately it completely missed its mark in catching my interest and honestly I couldn’t finish it. This was an unfortunate ‘mismatch’ to me

SoulScorched-DarkKings-DonnaGrant-Jun2015

Warrick is the next in line in her latest release, “Soul Scorched”, to get burned by the passion and love of Darcy, with her powerful magic as a druid. Love and revenge has no boundaries as Warrick and the Dark Kings want to save the innocent and Ulrik wants to sate the revenge burning in his heart. And Darcy gets right into the middle of this eternal battle of love and revenge as Warrick draws her in with his love, and Ulrik wants Darcy to unleash his magic, for him to become the powerful Dragon King he was once.

Love, revenge and magic bring out the dark evil with Darcy’s life on line, and Warrick will go against his King to save Darcy and make her his mate. As I always maintain, Donna Grant can’t go wrong writing these amazing love stories of the Dark Kings, filled with good and evil, power and courage, betrayal and compassion. Each story is an embodiment of her creative prowess and I sure hope we get to see Rhi getting her own closure with her mysterious Dragon King lover.

Book two in the “Falcon Football Series” is just as captivating and charming as the main leads Jessica Montgomery and Logan Wilde. Falcon, Alabama seems to be going through a magical spell of romance and love as Laura Threntham pens her stories with a dazzle and a sizzle.

CaughtUpInTheTouch-FalconFootball2-LauraTrentham-Juy2015

With an aspiration to become the CFO of Montgomery Industries, on the behest of her father, Jessica Montgomery arrives in Falcon to convince Logan Wilde to join Montgomery Restaurants, so her CFO spot is cemented. But the wilderness of Falcon, the open woods and the lush greens of Falcon bring back childhood memories of love and her grandmother. And the Mountain Man sure tempts her to test the boundaries of her dreams and her reality.

Touted as a famous chef, Logan Wilde is happy running his restaurant Adaline’s and has no intent to accept a job with the Montgomerys. With a past that he’s not proud of, and a present that he intents to work at, he is happy with his current status. But Jessica with her suits and killer heals stabs right at his heart and he wants nothing more than to keep her by his side and explore the wild side with her.

I loved Laura Trentham’s first book in the series “Slow And Steady Rush” (Darcy Wilde and Robbie Dalton), and “Caught Up In The Touch” takes us a step further into the little town of Falcon, and Laura’s penning is so much more entertaining, passionate and enticing. Logan and Jessica wear their emotions on their sleeves, independent yet depending on each other, both with painful and neglected pasts, yet have managed to find their bearings, will only make us love them more for their strength and love.

With secondary characters adding depth and spice to the story, Laura does a fantastic job with “Caught Up In The Touch” as she catches our hearts.
