Today is the “Encore” of their lives – a second chance to make a first impression for a lasting future.

Enclore-RockStarDuet#2-RachelLacey-Jun2018

Center stage, lights, music and tours bring star singer Colton Nix and celebrity assistant Jenn McDonald together under a starry night of drinks, conversation to a morning reality of hangovers and matrimony. As much as they are attracted to each other, Nix and Jenn have their own lives planned out, but then isn’t it life’s prerogative to rock and roll one’s plans?

Circumstances lead to the choice of staying married and the process of marriage gives Jenn and Nix a chance to get to know each other, understand each other as individuals, respect their opposite personalities, and as gossip flares tainting their relationship and testing their courage, they realize that their hearts are at stake.

Falling in love was never a part of the arrangement, but when did your heart ever listen to your brain! And when did love ever come announced! As Jenn and Nix go different directions trying to accept the reality of their situation, Katherine and Josh stand in support and strength with their unconditional love and empathy.

A true “Encore” of Rachel Lacey’s outstanding and brilliant narration of her Rock Star Duet Series, she intertwines Katherine and Josh from her first book “Unwritten” with seamless effort and mastery, yet not taking away the limelight from Nix and Jenn.

“Encore“ is an everlasting impression of a second chance!!!

Today is where their story begins…the rest is “Unwritten”.

That is the premise of Rachel Lacey’s latest in her new series, Rock Star Duet. A pop-start meets a Spanish professor, helping rescue her dogs, and the rest they say is history. The unsuspecting professor Josh Randall is thrown into the limelight as he realizes that his newfound friend is the infamous pop sensation Katherine Hayes. Despite their worlds being apart, friendship grows, sparks flare and passion ignites between the sheets.

Unwritten-CoverPicBlurb-RachelLacey-Arp2018

“Unwritten” is a stunning love story of a celebrity, hungry for a normal life, battling the rumors and hounds of Hollywood and the entertainment industry, overcoming personal demons and standing strong in the midst of media frenzy, the good and the bad, she never in her dreams imagined Josh Randall becoming her sanity and support. Katherine Hayes as that persona is an outstanding character created by Rachel Lacey.

Living a normal and quite life, having suffered a personal loss and trying to move on yet not able to let his love free, Josh Randall is the epitome of a regular guy going about his job on the other end of the spectrum. A son, uncle and a friend, he never imagined his life being tied with Katherine Hayes, and for her to become a person of interest to his heart…. her dogs, her baggage and her nightmares.

I have followed Rachel Lacey since her very first foray into writing, read every book of hers, and I can say with certainty that with “Unwritten”, she had penned her best novel so far. Her development as a writer, her innate portrayal of Katherine Hayes and Josh Randall, her deep understanding of the dynamics of various relationships and her brilliant narration of the story with emotion, betrayal and love is a true mark of her penmanship and her creative best.

The cover of “Unwritten” is as stunning as the story itself!

If you are reading J.L Berg, then you know you are in for an emotional roller coaster of a ride…raw, painful and gut-wrenching story filled with surmountable hope, faith and love…second chance of love and a future. A story that brings two souls who have lost so much and understand each other and believe that scars can fade and souls can heal.

What gets to me about Jennifer is her brilliant writing, her expertise of writing characters that will stay with you for a long time, her knack of incorporating real life incidents sprinkled with doses current topics, and her mastery of narration. Trust me when I say that she has blossomed into an amazing writer that I will always adore.

Creating Cora and Dean is no easy task, with their innumerable insecurities and pain, their shattered lives and the psychological ramifications, the responsibilities and the tenacious grip of not losing it all. It is no easy task to write a story that has emotions jumping of off the lines and doses of humor that give the story a breath of hope and light.

“The Scars I Bare”, will remain as one of J.L. Berg’s defining moments of her writing career!

JLBERG

I’m a California native, who lives in the South – Virginia to be exact. I still prefer sushi to fried chicken, avocados to okra, and I absolutely loathe humidity. I do love watching the seasons change though. My husband and I have been here for over a decade, and I still get giddy like a school girl every time it snows. It’s magical!

I’m married to my high school sweetheart, and we’ve been blessed with two beautiful daughters and two rescue pups I like to call my “coworkers”. I’m obsessed with chocolate, minions, anything Harry Potter and I love to watch re-runs of Friends and Gilmore Girls!

EXCERPT:

By the time I arrived at the inn for dinner, I was a goddamn mess. Sweat was running down my back from the heat, even after changing my shirt twice. I’d changed my mind three times on whether to bring flowers for Cora, doubling back to the house at the last minute to grab them after I firmly decided to leave them at home.

TSIB-Teaser3 (1)

When I finally arrived, I was a solid twenty minutes late and probably looked like a psychopath from all the sweat and the mangled flowers in my hand.

But all of this was forgotten the moment the door opened, and Cora greeted me.

“Jesus,” I cursed, giving her a once-over before she even had the chance to say hi. “You look insane.”

“Insane is good?” she asked, pink staining her cheeks.

I’d never seen her in anything beyond scrubs and shorts. Granted, this woman could wear a paper bag and be the hottest woman in the room. Tonight though, she’d dressed up, wearing a short, strappy number with tiny pink flowers dotting the fabric.

“Insane is really good,” I clarified.

There’s something very addictive and seductive about Susan Stoker’s various series of courageous and brave soldiers, their fight for justice and the fierce protectiveness of their loved ones.

ClaimingFelicity-AceSecurity#4-SusanStoker-Feb2018

“Claiming Felicity” book four in the Ace Security Series is another exemplary work of Susan Stoker’s creative writing as she brings the surprising secretive half brother to the Andersons brothers, a twist to their family dynamics.

Ryan Sinclair comes to Castle Rock, CO, after the discovery of the half-brothers he never knew about. Wanting to know his newfound family, and leaving his mercenary life behind, Ryder is more than ready to plant roots and with Felicity Jones.

Feeling from a dangerous past, Castle Rock was supposed to be a temporary stop for Felicity Jones. But the Anderson family has tied her strong to family and friendship, and leaving was becoming a far fetched idea until the past catches up with her and lands her family and friends in danger.

But Ryder and the Anderson brothers will protect their own and will do anything to keep Felicity safe. With Ryder as her self appointed bodyguard and with sparks of attraction fanning between them, and passion igniting the sheets, Ryder will do anything to protect and keep Felicity in Castle Rock for a future with her.

“Claiming Felicity” is another courageous story of a woman trying to defeat her past for a future with the man she loves. A wonderful story of family and friendship, support and care, brotherhood and kinship, Susan Stoker gives her readers another captivating thriller.

Susan Stoker is one fine writer that I was glad to have come upon and enjoyed reading her stories. From her Badge Of Honor Series, Delta Force Heroes Series to Seal Of Protection Series and now to Ace Security series, I’ve literally enjoyed every single one of her books. Protecting Caroline, Protecting Fiona and Protecting Alabama are my top favorites of her books that I’ve visited innumerable times…chicken soup for the soul!!!
