What gets to me about Jennifer is her brilliant writing, her expertise of writing characters that will stay with you for a long time, her knack of incorporating real life incidents sprinkled with doses current topics, and her mastery of narration. Trust me when I say that she has blossomed into an amazing writer that I will always adore.

Creating Cora and Dean is no easy task, with their innumerable insecurities and pain, their shattered lives and the psychological ramifications, the responsibilities and the tenacious grip of not losing it all. It is no easy task to write a story that has emotions jumping of off the lines and doses of humor that give the story a breath of hope and light.

“The Scars I Bare”, will remain as one of J.L. Berg’s defining moments of her writing career!

JLBERG

I’m a California native, who lives in the South – Virginia to be exact. I still prefer sushi to fried chicken, avocados to okra, and I absolutely loathe humidity. I do love watching the seasons change though. My husband and I have been here for over a decade, and I still get giddy like a school girl every time it snows. It’s magical!

I’m married to my high school sweetheart, and we’ve been blessed with two beautiful daughters and two rescue pups I like to call my “coworkers”. I’m obsessed with chocolate, minions, anything Harry Potter and I love to watch re-runs of Friends and Gilmore Girls!

EXCERPT:

By the time I arrived at the inn for dinner, I was a goddamn mess. Sweat was running down my back from the heat, even after changing my shirt twice. I’d changed my mind three times on whether to bring flowers for Cora, doubling back to the house at the last minute to grab them after I firmly decided to leave them at home.

TSIB-Teaser3 (1)

When I finally arrived, I was a solid twenty minutes late and probably looked like a psychopath from all the sweat and the mangled flowers in my hand.

But all of this was forgotten the moment the door opened, and Cora greeted me.

“Jesus,” I cursed, giving her a once-over before she even had the chance to say hi. “You look insane.”

“Insane is good?” she asked, pink staining her cheeks.

I’d never seen her in anything beyond scrubs and shorts. Granted, this woman could wear a paper bag and be the hottest woman in the room. Tonight though, she’d dressed up, wearing a short, strappy number with tiny pink flowers dotting the fabric.

“Insane is really good,” I clarified.

From the publication of her very first book “When You Are Ready” to now, Jennifer L. Berg has become an illustrious writer with her eloquent narration, keeps every character in her heart and writes with her soul.

A new series, “By The Bay”, with the latest title, “The Choices I Have Made”, she gives the readers another thought provoking and insightful story of two young teenage lovers, Jake Jameson and Molly McIntire, torn apart by circumstances and the choices made.

Now twelve years later, Jake Jameson is back in his hometown, as a doctor and to fulfill his father’s last wishes and rites. Twelve years away did not dim his love for Molly nor did it ease the pain or memories of their past. And coming face to face with her, makes him question the choices he had made and the distance they had created.

Never leaving her little bay town, and now running her family’s B&B, Molly McIntire buried the bittersweet memories of Jake deep inside and is ready to move on with her life. But then the past comes knocking on her door for a place to stay, a friend to talk with and all the anger and fears bubble over, making Molly question the choices she had made twelve years ago.

“The Choices I Have Made” is a stunning story of two beautiful people, the choices that have separated them, fate that brings them together and destiny wants to give them a second chance to build a future together. Jennifer Berg as always dead-on with penning the emotions, fears and insecurities of two people in love, of the circumstances that separated them, and the reconciliation of their anger and residual resentment, that gives them a second chance for a life together.

From the publication of her very first book “When You Are Ready” to her latest “Forgetting August”, Jennifer L. Berg has become an illustrious writer molding raw into a finesse of penning a story. She’s become very eloquent in her narration, and description of emotions and keeps every character in her heart and writes with her soul. Many instances, interesting sub-plots, timelines and details, not an easy task for any writer and Berg has managed to foray into the limelight as a bestseller and looks like she will stay there.

ForgettingAugust-Lost&Found#1-J.Berg

A simple story of two people so much in love and yet their lives fall apart into pieces around them. There’s nothing more terrible than waking up from a coma with no memories and losing your self to a world that has gone by while you were sleeping. August Kincaid wants to hold onto that one piece of his past, Everly to find himself and the person Everly has come to hate. As much as he wants her back, he’ll do anything to keep Everly safe, even if it means letting her go.

For Everly, life’s given her a chance at a future that could have all been hers, yet that one phone call stating August was awake, sends her into a roller-coaster of feelings that she wants buried. But then fate has a different plan for her and her destiny seems to be the dangerous August. Oscillating between feelings of fear and love for August, Everly has to choose the path that would keep her heart happy and this time running away may not be the answer.

But then sometimes second chances can be deadly and a heart betrayed may not recover.…forever! And August Kincaid may lose the very breath of his life in trying to find himself.

“Forgetting August” is book one of J.L Berg’s new series “Lost And Found”. Rich with emotions of love and hatred, desperation and helplessness, hope and faith, Jennifer takes the readers on a ride filled with raw needs and craving for a love that can be the death of a relationship. She did a fabulous job of portraying two individuals with a bucketload of need and pain, love and passion and the million things that can break a couple and the consequences of their actions. Yet she fills the pages with a glimmer of hope that love can be rekindled, with the uncertainties and the fears of a normal human.

Check out this emotional trailer of Jude and Lailah as they try to make a life Beyond These Walls.…….

Excerpt:

“You’d really forgo everything and marry me tomorrow?”

Rolling over, he pinned me beneath him, encapsulating me between his strong muscular arms. My fingers instinctively traveled up over the intricate black ink of his arm.

“In a heartbeat. But you’re right. Our mothers would kill us if we didn’t let them witness this day. So, we will be good, and I’ll give you the wedding you’ve always dreamed of. And then, my bride to be, you and I will spend the next three weeks in …. oh, right. I can’t tell you. It’s a surprise.”

I shook my head, letting out a puff of air in frustration. “Jerk.”

“Such language.” He laughed.

“Why does it have to be a surprise, Jude?” I whined, wrapping my arms around him.

“Ireland was enough of a surprise for an entire lifetime. You don’t have to keep trying to dazzle me,” I said.

His head lowered, and I felt the wisp of his lips touch my cheek.

“Actually I do,” he whispered. “Every day for the rest of our lives, I’m going to do just that. You deserve to be dazzled, Lailah.”

“Within These Walls”, Jude and Lailah had formed an undeniable bond of love and trust. Both of them had a multitude of demons to fight and despite giving her heart to Jude, had to get a new heart. They sacrificed a lot, and lived through separation and pain that came with any couple in love.

And now, Jude and Lailah are all set for a life “Beyond These Walls”. A life that had seen them in wedded bliss and a family that supports and loves them unconditionally. Beyond these walls, Jude and Lailah are living the life of their dreams, crossing out things on Lailah’s list, yet always on the edge of that fear that something can go wrong.

BeyondTheseWalls-ReleaseDayPic1-Apr2015

In married bliss, Jude and Lailah are surprised with news that threatens to tear them apart. Emotions on a precipice, uncertainty and fear dogging their lives, Jude never gives up on Lailah, and Lailah puts her entire life in Jude’s hands. Strength, courage and forgiveness have given Jude and Lailah a chance at love and future, and now tenacity, support, love and hope have kept them together.

I don’t think words would do justice to J.L Berg’s latest release “Beyond These Walls” Jennifer has moved beyond the walls of her imagination, creating Jude and Lailah as human as possible, and beyond fictional characters. She has poured her heart and soul into Jude and Lailah , two bravehearts destined to be together and get a second lease of life.

With her sheer imagination and creative finesse, J.L Berg has done a brilliant job with giving Jude and Lailah their dream and her epilogue is one of my favorites and so very close to my heart. I cannot be more proud than I am now of an author I had followed since her very first book and her impressive and illustrious journey so far. Jude and Lailah still remain her crowning glory in my personal opinion.

Yes, “Beyond These Walls” can be read alone, but I highly recommend that the readers read “Within These Walls”, to understand Jude and Lailah, their pain and love, sacrifice and hope, and trust and dreams.

“Beyond These Walls” will break down the walls of your heart on April 21, 2015
