Kendra Eliot’s new “Mercy Kilpatrick” series continues with the latest release, “A Merciful Secret”, as Police Chief Truman Daly and Mercy Kilpatrick cruise into a relationship, taking care of her niece and slowly easing into mending fences with her family.

But then there’s never a day off for the law enforcement, as Mercy becomes a key witness in the murder of a little girl’s grandmother. With a similar related murder of a renowned judge, Mercy gets drawn into age-old secrets of the past of her hometown, and the consequences that follow the next generation.

“A Merciful Secret” is an intriguing and emotional story of a mother and daughter surviving a past that wants to kill them, a story riddled with secrets that tears a family apart, and a story that devastates Mercy’s very life and soul.

Keeping the dynamics of the Kilpatrick family in light, Kendra Elliot weaves another intense story of secrets and betrayal, pain and loss, death and devastation, even as she strengthens the relationship between Truman and Kilpatrick. I’ve always loved her prowess of developing a personal relationship, layer-by-layer, book-by-book

As the so called “vigilante’ is creating a mayhem of brutal killings of serial killers, Bowen and Macey have a hard time keeping the boundaries between personal and professional feelings apart. As they get closer to the killer, secrets and clues seem to lead them to a path of betrayal and deception so very close to home. But then this is Cynthia Eden we are talking about and with her creative mind comes a twist to this thriller.

You want a dark and exciting romantic suspense read; Cynthia Eden is the go-to author. There is something so very passionate about her hero and heroine, each having being through unimaginable pain and trauma, and the treacherous mind of her villains is just pure reading pleasure!

Cynthia Eden is exemplary in that field and I just love her characters. She gives equal depth and layers to the good as well as the bad, to make her stories so very brilliant. The suspense keeps us captivated, the adrenaline is high to keep us on the edge of the seats and Tucker and Dawn are partner to cheat death to have a future.

In desperate need of Denver’s help to find her kidnapped niece, Noni puts an almost BOLO on the internet trying to reach Denver, an act that literally puts her and Denver in the crosshairs of the evil doctor who wants Denver back at any cost. With Noni getting into his dangerous life on the run, Denver has no choice but protect her at any cost, and also bring her niece Talia safe and sound.

With bullets flying, guns blazing, and the “Twisted Truths” of his creation and parentage dogging them, Denver and Noni fight for their life as well as for the families they care about. Even as they dodge the explosions and the bullets, the adrenaline of attraction and lust never seems to be far for Noni and Denver.

Rebecca Zanetti gives a fitting end to the Blood Brother Series, as she brings the Sin Brothers into the fold supporting Denver, Heath and Logan and the ever supporting cop, risking their lives to protect justice and the innocent. It’s a fascinating read of power and control, the many facets of high-level intelligence and the dreams of an evil woman wanting the ultimate power. A very fast faced and action packed story, Rebecca Zanetti is a superior creator of some amazing stories!

It is always a treat to read more of the couples that have caught our attention in this gripping and intriguing blend of Rogue stories. Along with keeping the justice upright, getting to see the progression of Stevie and Zane’s relationship as a couple is always worth the reading.

It’s wonderful to re-visit the little town of Solitude, and visit with Seth Harding and his wife Carly, but then death and evil never rest and so neither does Seth and his team and Carly.

TwistedTruth-RogueJusticeNovella#1-MelindaLeigh-Nov2017

Responding to a double homicide and finding a child chained in the basement is not something Seth was looking forward to. More than ever, bringing Carly in to help with the child is just as painful, with Carly recovering from a trauma. But justice never rests, and where a child is involved, Carly will move heaven and earth to protect the child and get to the bottom of the deaths of two who are not even the child’s parents. As the case becomes complex, so does the danger surrounding their family and team. With death shooting bullets at them, Seth and Carly have to work together to outwit death and save their family.

Another adrenaline pumping short novella, entwining an intriguing plots along with Seth and Carly’s new life, their daughter, mother and their farm. It’s nice to see the after of Seth’s and Carly’s fragile relationship and the inroads they have made after reconciling, and reading about the supporting casts, always makes it extra special.

“Twisted Truth” is book one of the Rogue Justice Novellas, and co-written by Melinda Leigh (Book #1) and Book #2 will follow written by Kendra Elliot. Brilliant at what she does best, writing romantic suspense keeping her readers enthralled, Melinda Leigh pens another thrilling story around Seth and Carly.
