Erin Nicholas’s “Opposites Attract” series is an extraordinary blend of some remarkable characters, polar opposites, yet the power of attraction, lust and love, draws them to each other, extremely impressive storylines, and with a surprising twist of sourness, the latest “Totally His” is simply an orgasmic read!

TotallyHis-OppositesAttract#3

Beautiful actress in pink lingerie Sophie Birch meets the savior and protector Finn Kelly, bearer of handcuffs and dreams sexy and dirty, when her theatre catches fire; a fire that sparks a fiery spark of lust and attraction, dating and mating, and relationships and forever-after.

The highlight of this story is Sophie’s estranged relationship with her unreliable and unworthy father. A father that she really loves yet disappoints her entire life. A father who is selfish and would do anything for his own good, yet Sophie cannot make her heart let go of this complication. The dynamics of this relationship was very well portrayed and with Finn getting involved to smooth things was one of the best scenes of this love story.

How can you not fall in love with Finn, a guy who goes to great lengths to get to know Sophie intimately, understanding her fears and insecurities, benevolent of the relationship between his mother and Sophie, Finn would do anything to make Sophie “Totally His”.

And to be honest, reviews do not do justice to this stunning story as Sophie and Finn navigate the complexities of a relationship, with a large extended family and their interferences. Erin Nicholas created an amazing screenplay with Finn Kelly and Sophie Birch, well staged and choreographed.

Jessica Lemmon is growing on me as her book three of her Billionaire Bad Boys Series, pits retired marine Eli Crane against the stubborn and beautiful Isabella Sawyer, as they work day in day out to test the sparks of attraction that seems to between them.

Loosing a part of him in the war, leaves Eli damaged mentally and physically. Having his brothers convince him to run the Crane Hotels is not up his alley yet, as he tries to find himself in setting up a foundation for injured vets. Insurmountable task, yet he can’t seem to give control to his assistants as they leave him high and dry, monster that he is!

Isabella has to make sure she keeps the Crane business to expand her contacts and get recommendations, Leaving a family and money that suffocates her, she opens her own employment agency and is a kick ass at it. And she sets herself as Eli’s assistant, a stubborn, tenacious and hard working lady against the damaged, stubborn monster of the Crane clan.

“The Bastard Billionaire” is actually my favorite of the three so far. Isabella is one tough cookie and they make a perfect partnership as they go through fears and insecurities, relationships and family dynamics. A perfect read for a romantic at heart, well written by Jessica Lemmon.

If you are a book fanatic and haven’t read Erin Nicholas, you are definitely missing out on reading an amazingly talented writer! She is known to pen some mesmerizing stories with some awesome characters, with doses of emotions and thoughtfulness and some wickedly sinful passion that is out of this world!!!!

A new series, new characters and a new level of narration, completely engrossing, completely charming and completely engaging is “Completely Yours”, book one of Erin Nicholas’s new series “Opposites Attract”.

I’ll save you the spiel on the story, and give my two cents as to what caught my attention and why I really, really, really liked, no loved this story, Zach Ashley and Kiera Connelly all together. The whole concept of meeting at a Comic-Con and weaving in a disaster to bring EMT Zach racing over to help and having Kiera support him with her comic-con language is a delicious treat to read.

completelyyours-oppositesattract1-erinnicholas-dec2016

Developing Zach as the guy who wants to fix all problems, be in the middle of everything, wanting to know everything that happens with his family, always in control of a situation, takes patience, immense creativity and a brilliant narration to pass it on to the readers via words and thoughts. To his ying, Erin brings in Kiera as the yang, calm and collected, reserved and introvert, a gaming fanatic who actually is the creator of a popular online game, understands the nuances of life, of letting people solve their own problems and that caring for the ones we love doesn’t mean to suffocate them and solve all their issues.

“Completely Yours” is one of Erin’s finest writing so far as she takes Zach through his frustrations and insecurities, giving Kiera a guy who cares very much with a heart of gold and would lay down his life for loved ones, and most importantly weaving in the fact that an online game can be a platform of healing for so many people out there, sharing fears and issues, with no judgments.

And to be honest, reviews do not do justice to Zach Ashley, Kiera Connelly and their creator Erin Nicholas – this story is to be read to fully enjoy the impact of the dialogue, humor, relationships and the chemistry between all characters and as Zach and Kiera work out their own relationship….maybe with the help of a fictional world!

Very well played Erin Nicholas!

I don’t know what is about this book, it has been at the back of my mind for eons now! I remember reading it when I was fifteen years old (1985, it was published in 1983), a lifetime ago, when I used to spend all my monthly allowance on buying Mills & Boon romances, Silhouette romances…..so many fond memories!

I used to have a copy of this and somehow it go misplaced or holdbackthedawn-judithduncanmaybe I just gave it away to a library before I headed to the US. Yet I couldn’t forget it and remember searching various bookstores for it…..and after all these years here I get a copy of it, courtesy Amazon and it’s independent sellers 😉

Again not sure what it is about this story that had me spellbound – maybe it’s the geologist heroine Leslie Kairns or Steve McRory the handsome and subtle alpha of the old times!!! Subtle alpha I say, because there’s been a vast swing of the pendulum in the writing of romances, the characterizations, the softer sex (LOL) and reading this book only brought open all the differences of romance writing – then and now! All good though, addicted as I am to reading a good romance.

I loved re-visiting this romance a couple of days and I enjoyed it even more than I had before. It tickled me pink to read the scene where Leslie gets a pair of joggers as a gift and Steve telling her to save the box to help him with other actions (she is below 5′), or the emotional scene where she comes to know who her father is or the intense power-play with her step-father……so many scenes that I remembered!

Just had to share this little jewel from my lifetime of reading….

“Over The Line”, second in the Alpha Ops series by Emmy Curtis is intelligent, witty, exciting and definitely holds the interest of the readers. My first of reading Emmy Curtis and I will definitely go for round two.

Beth Garcia is an Army Special Forces Sergeant and one kick ass Sergeant respected by everyone. She owes her life to Jack Walker, in Afghanistan, big time when she is hit. Now back on the job after intense physical therapy, she ends up meeting Jack Walker accidentally.

OverTheLine-AlphaOps2-EmmyCurtis-Oct2014

Chance meeting and former attraction leads to friendship and getting to know each other. So when Jack Walker needs a favor from her to pose as his fiancé, she is all game to have some fun and pay back the debt. Jack Walker’s family is big in society and they have no clue what Jack does for a living. And this may be the wedge between them as they realize their feelings going beyond friendship and can Jack go after Beth once the charade is over, to claim her is the million dollar question.

Playing being engaged, wedding preparations in the air, and with a killer on the loose, Jack and Beth find themselves more than just being friends. Emmy Curtis’s narration holds wit and suspense. Beth and Jack are two lovable characters and she does a very good job of keeping that chemistry going and holding the suspense until it is revealed.
