Crista McHugh is another one of my favorite-to-go authors and her Kelly Brothers Series is just another beautiful read of siblings from a large family, a wonderful mother and let’s not forget Jasper!

Book 6 in the series, “In The Red Zone” takes us into the world of Frank Kelly and Kiana Dyer, romance and danger, love and racial differences. This is why I love Crista McHugh’s stories. They cover a wide range of social issues from drugs to addictions, from social structure to man-made boundaries, that hinder relationships and her add in her personal experiences and they make some captivating reading.

InTheRedZone-KellyBrothers6-Mar 2015

All-star linebacker Frank Kelly may have a hard time controlling his anger and staying out of trouble, but meeting Kiana brings calmness to him that he wants to take to the next level. Kiana Dyer maybe the daughter of a former Hall Of Fame football player, but her father’s dream charity organization needs some serious help and she turns to Frank for help.

Frank agrees to help her with his fame and reach, and in return Kiana agrees to date him to help clean up his image. What starts as temporary, leads to instant attraction and Frank wants more permanent than temporary. But Kiana has an abusive and painful past that may end the relationship between them. As secrets come out and Kiana’s life is endangered, Frank is hell bent on protecting her and keeping her with him forever.

Courageous and a fighter for her right to life, Kiana warms our hearts as she works hard to make a difference in young children’s lives through her charity. Having everything under the sky, the passionate and protective Frank will even take a bullet to keep the love of his life safe. I love the way he handles Kiana with so much patience, love and support, you can’t help love this Kelly brother.

Another great story by Crista McHugh as she weaves another sweet romance around Frank and Kiana, as they struggle to overcome betrayal, insecurities and abuse to hope for a future.

Brenda Novak has successfully tied this heart of mine into an emotional mess of sadness, helplessness and the sheer unfairness of a life that fate had the pleasure of ripping apart and throwing it to the wolves. Good people are not spared from the bad things that life loves throwing in our face.

Seventeen years of Phoenix Fuller’s young life has been behind bars due to an injustice and evidence based on her upbringing and social status. She loved Riley with all her heart in high school, and he was her first and would be her last. Unfortunately parental pressure and social boundaries make Riley break Phoenix’s heart before he realizes she’s pregnant. Phoenix may be alone, abandoned and had a miserable life with a hoarder for a mother, but she never was a murderer. And she never was responsible for the death of Riley’s girlfriend after their breakup.

ThisHeartOfMine-WhiskeyCreek-BrendaNovak

Seventeen years later, she’s back home in Whiskey Creek to meet her son for the first time. And what an emotional face off it was, through Brenda’s brilliant narration. It will make you cry with pain, it will make you scream with frustration for the unfairness of it and it will hurt your heart as Phoenix goes through emotions that only a mother can experience of having lost everything, yet gaining all at the barest of a smile from her son.

Riley Stinson had always loved Phoenix and seeing her again throws him into a state of confusion as his heart sparks love, and his brain goes in the opposite direction. He has done a wonderful job of raising Jacob alone, with humbleness and kindness that gives Jacob a chance to welcome his mother with an open mind and an open heart. But the road ahead is filled with so many hurdles as some people of Whiskey Creek are not so forgiving.

“This Heart Of Mine” is Phoenix all the way. This is a dedication to all women who have gone through adverse situations in their lives and have managed to come on the other side with strength, integrity and positivity to move forward. Phoenix is just an amazing personality with a big heart, always putting others ahead of her needs despite her adverse situation, a heart filled with love and friendship, you cannot help but feel every single emotion she goes through and cry with her and applaud her courage.

I knew as soon as I read the blurb that this is going to be an emotional story, but never would have guessed that this would make me cry right from the first page. Brenda Novak has always been one of my favorite writers, and personally I believe that “This Heart Of Mine” is her superlative best. There are so many small details and tender moments in the story that make you a part of Phoenix’s character, mind and soul.

This is a priceless story in time that gives hope for a future and faith in friendship, as it reiterates the fact that there still are good people left in this world…and that there are good people like Phoenix and Riley who will get a second chance of becoming a family.

And no words or reviews can do justice to this pure brilliance unless read on your own and it will knock your hearts out on March 31, 2015

I don’t know if Violet Duke can give us a perfect ‘OH’ than the story of Isaac and Xoey. Her Cactus Creek series is a romantic cauldron of some amazing characters, lovable, warm, just plain perfect with imperfections. They grow on you, they tempt you with chocolate and beer, they protect you with their might, they support you unconditionally and they give the readers the perfect Ohs!!!!

Xoey Montenegro and Isaac McKnight have a long history between them before they decided to remain best friends. They talk every night, they have breakfast together everyday, they talk about their misfit dates, analyze every single thing under the sky, except talk about the feelings they have for each other. It’s perfectly clear to Isaac that Xoey is ‘the woman’ for him, whereas Xoey has a history that holds her back from accepting Mr. Wrong as her Mr. Right.

LoveExesOhs-CactusCreek4

“Loves, Exes And Ohs” is just not another sweet romance with a happy ending. It is loaded with emotions and pain, love and friendship, and a history with a twist that would rock our hearts, yet at the same time leaves us feeling warm and fuzzy.

Xoey is a darling with a heart of gold and everyone just loves her. Strong and resilient, she is open with her feelings and kindness. Smart, sassy and beautiful inside out, she has a past that she needs to reconcile with before she can give herself completely to Isaac.

And Isaac the perfect Oh for Xoey is the perfect complement to her wit and charm. Supported by his good friends including the new ‘dwarfs’ who have made a home in Cactus Creek and have appointed themselves as Xoey’s unrelated siblings, Isaac has the daunting task of convincing Xoey that he is her Mr. Right forever, despite the past that connects him with Xoey.

Violet Duke as always is one of the most charming writers I’ve come across. Her penchant for narrating stories that tug at your heart, creating characters that you can absolutely relate on a daily basis, and the moments of tender emotions that ties your heart into knots, I can guarantee will make her one of your favorite to go writers.

Be it with her witty dialogues, the warm and friendly conversations, or the unsuspecting twists she weaves into her story, you will always end up with the biggest ‘OH’!!!!

The “Evidence Series” by Rachel Grant is a fascinating combination of archeology, politics and war that keeps mankind hinging on edges of power play and destruction for personal gain and us readers at the edge of our seats and highly entertained.

“Incriminating Evidence” takes archeologist Isabel Dawson to the wilds of Alaska searching for truth about her brother Vin’s death as a Raptor operative on Raptor land. Saving the Raptor CEO Alec Ravissant was never on her hiking trail, yet she ends up saving the unconscious former ranger turned politician despite her reservations about him covering up her brother’s death.

Alec has no recollection of how he ended up unconscious or who would want to hurt him. But facing his red haired, sassy and smart savior sure sparks attraction that he wants to explore. Being a millionaire running for senate and operating an organization of covert operatives sure puts him in the crosshairs of danger, but now Isabel’s life is threatened as she becomes a victim of evil and end up in his compound for protection.

IncriminatingEvidence-RachelGrant-Mar2015

With the danger of betrayal coming from within the walls of the compound, Alec and Isabel have a traitor to catch and a passion to explore. With trust and honesty put to test, both have to go beyond their feelings to believe in each other enough to put their lives in each other’s hands. Alec and Isabel are two strong and courageous individuals, willing to sacrifice for each other to bring justice to her brother and put an end to the threat harboring the world.

With a sublime passion and an aura of lust between them, Rachel Grant does a brilliant job of weaving a tapestry of suspense and danger in the wilderness of Alaska. With no dearth of emotions and pain, “Incriminating Evidence” takes you on a thrilling ride of pain and betrayal, trust and honesty, evil and destruction. And it is always wonderful to re-visit characters from the previous books of the series.

With so many small moments of tenderness and love, passion and lust, danger and betrayal, greed and evil, this is one entertaining and fascinating book you will not put down until the very last page is read.

Sharon Sala writes some real interesting stories. They have an aura of timeless mystery to them and add Sharon’s style of narration and writing, you get one great heck of a story.

The first book “Wild Hearts” in her new series Secrets And Lies kick starts the story with a mysterious incident shadowed by dark hazy memories and a death thirty years ago. And thirty years later, looks like reckoning is not far off.

WildHearts-SecretsAndLies1-SharonSala

Thirty years ago Trey’s mother and Dallas’s father have been a witness to an incident that they don’t remember anymore, yet Trey’s mother seems to be getting back some memories that may open a can of worms and the killer wants to keep it buried.

The death of her father brings home Dallas Phillips from her city job. Shocked and in grief, she does not believe that her father committed suicide and as she digs into her father’s paperwork, she realizes that there is a lot more going on than she had realized and she turns to her childhood friend and lover Trey Jakes for help.

As Dallas and Jake try to uncover the truth behind Dallas’s father murder, old feelings of love and passion reignite the relationship between them. Dallas is an amazingly resilient lady, kind and with a good heart. All she wants is to find the truth behind her father’s murder. Jake as the local police chief is just Dallas needs to compliment her. Years ago her job caused a rift between them, but now Jake the protector is not letting Dallas get away a second time. Two wonderful people meant to be together.

Sharon Sala weaves another fabulous mystery that keeps the interest going, and the minds guessing. I love her knack of creating characters with depth and individuality, and her play of emotions and feelings between characters.

This is no cliffhanger to the love story of Dallas and Jake, but the mystery will continue into the next book of her series, as the killer wants an old secret to be kept buried, forever and is willing to kill again to do so.
