“Disarming Detective” is the first in the Lawmen Series by Elizabeth Heiter and of course my first of reading her writing. Again, the first timer sure caught me by surprise.

Detective Logan Greer is in desperate need of having a profiler when a body was discovered in his small town of Oakville, FL; a desperation that brings him face to face with Isabella Cortez, a FBI profiler. Instead of heading to California on a vacation with her friends, she ends up going to Oakville, to help Logan in an unofficial capacity, just because the case comes very close to being the Fishhook Killer that she was pursuing for years.

DisarmingDetective-ElizabethHeiter-Jan2015

With Logan’s gut instinct that there is a serial killer at large, and the death hitting very close to home, he needs all of Isabella’s expertise to catch the killer. Isabella on the other hand wants to bring a closure to her own trauma of her best friend being kidnapped by the killer and wants to bring the evil to rest.

As sparks ignite between the detective and the profiler, the case takes a bizarre turn. With more questions than answers, Logan and Isabella try to keep their attraction at bay. As danger and death dog the town of Oakville, Logan and Isabella succumb to their desires. And as they get closer to the killer, their future may burn to the ground.

“Disarming Detective” is definitely an interesting read. There were a few pages in the middle of the story where I felt it was dragging a tad bit as if the writer was wondering where do I take this story, but then it picks up pace and keeps going.

Elizabeth does a fine job, disarming her readers with Logan and Isabella, and doesn’t disappoint at all.

I’ve never read Donna Hill, and this is an absolute first for me. “The Way You Love Me” is a charming and an appealing love story of Justin Lawson and Bailey Sinclair.

Bailey Sinclair drops out of law school to take care of her siblings after her mother dies, and there is no father in the picture. She works two jobs to make ends meet, take care of her wayward siblings and try to save penny by penny to go back to law school. Very hardworking and friendly, she never lets the hardships in life take her down and neither does she want to depend on a man who can control her and her goals. So the surprise encounter with a charismatic stranger in the bar she works comes as a total surprise as she is instantly attracted to him.

TheWayYouLoveMe-DonnaHill-Jan2015

Justin Lawson comes from the rich Lawson legacy and is one of the most eligible bachelors of Baton Rouge. Following his own destiny of wanting to be an attorney and help the under privileged, he refuses to follow his political legacy. He falls for Bailey instantaneously, but he sure has his job cut out for him, to bring down the walls that Bailey had built around her.

As Bailey and Justin spend time together and succumb to their passion, Bailey needs to get over her insecurities and trust Justin with her heart. And Justin, a by-product of his lovingly large rich family, has to build a convincing case that with love, support and trust, two deserving people from opposite ends of a spectrum can have future together.

Donna Hill makes us fall for the Lawson Clan with her simple, loving and no drama romance of two wonderful people who are meant to be together. “The Way You Love Me” sure makes it an enjoyable read.

The Dare World of Carly Phillips just keeps getting hotter and hotter. At the same time there is no dearth of deep emotions and human connection as Olivia Dare and Dylan Rhodes rock book#5 of the Dare Series.

My personal favorite is Ian and Riley from her first book “Dare To Love”, but Dylan Rhodes has become my new BFF. Dylan is the Travel Coordinator of the Miami Thunder Football team, and had Olivia Dare in his radar for a while now. His bold display of possessiveness and intent to get her on Olivia’s birthday party sets the tone of their love story. And of course keeping her family’s warnings in mind, and not wanting to give up Olivia a second time, Dylan dares to touch Olivia’s heart.

DareToTouch-DareSeries5-Jan2015

Olivia Dare is the Executive Director of the Miami Thunder team and working closely with Dylan has created a passion not only for football, but also for the guy himself. Their passion is intense and chemistry sizzling, yet Olivia breaks off with Dylan as her past pain and insecurities take precedence over her feelings for Dylan. But with Dylan clearly stating his intentions, Olivia does not stand a chance of backing off.

With the Pro-ball taking them to Arizona, Dylan and Olivia reconnect, but Dylan’s got a monumental job of breaking down the walls Olivia had erected. And Olivia needs to trust Dylan enough to open her heart to him, and believe in him to take her away from the past pain. Dylan is tenacious and patient and Olivia is scared of her family history becoming a roadblock on her way to the future.

“Dare To Touch” is another scintillating and intense love story of two really beautiful people, just wanting to make a life for themselves. Carly Phillips does a fabulous job of breathing life into Dylan and Olivia, you could hardly see them as fictional characters.

Let’s talk animal magnetism, scorching heat between the sheets, passion off the charts, patience and determination taking the front row, and two amazing people meant to be together, mind, body, and soul!

Julianna Perez has come a long way from being a teenage mother to raising her son single handedly with courage, perseverance and believing in herself. With her son Anthony as her driving force for survival, she works three jobs to make ends meet, and she has completely and solely relied on herself for making a life for herself and her son. Forget about dating or having a relationship for the past ten years, she neither had the time or the desire to think of a man in her life.

DaringAttraction-MelanieShawn-Jan2015

For that very reason, Julianna is surprised with her reaction to Cole Carson, quarterback for the Miami Thunders. Cole is the epitome of the perfect athlete with healthy an appetite for play and women. As much as he enjoys the perks of his status, he’s got a heart of gold that goes along with his drop dead gorgeous personality. Lacking no dearth for female company, if a combination of Eva Longoria and Sofia Vergara comes face-to-face, all Carson can do is not to fall at Julianna’s feet and beg her to marry him.

And thus starts a daring game of pursuing the woman of his dreams and giving a chance to the attraction that beguiled him, and a foundation to make a future together. No easy task for Mr. Alpha, as Julianna has her walls up protecting her from repeating past mistakes and terrible pain. Her world revolves around her famous lists and her ten-year old son, a son who is more than happy to share his mother with Cole, doling out her secrets.

The sister duo of Melanie and Shawna have upped their ante delving into the depths of passion and the fire that burns behind closed doors. Lists are made, fantasies are lived, family and friends heal pain, and support and trust gives a chance for that love to bury the insecurities to make a better future. The conclusion to that “Daring Attraction” is pure joy and sensual pleasure! Cole and Julianna have been etched with such perfection, literally feels that you are living their life, right along side with them.

‘Daring Attraction’ is part of the writer/author Carly Phillips’ Dare to Love Kindle World, with nine authors weaving stories around the infamous Dare Family, and what a blazing start to the stories coming forth and nothing less than what is expected from Melanie Shawn, a story of passion, love and trust, delectable and delicious, all rolled into a daring romance.

I’ve always liked Sarah Morgan and her sweet romantic stories. They are charming as the fuzzies of romance, deep with emotions and intensity and characters that take you on a roller coaster ride of laughter and tears.

Lily Rose believes in love to the very end of her soul. Despite being an orphan and tossed around, despite being bitten and betrayed, despite being a sick and unwanted child, she believes in fairy tale love and happy endings. Archeologist by daytime and moon-lighting as a cleaner to pay her student loans, she is one heck of a sweet, lovable, positive person, who cannot keep from talking nineteen to the dozen if her life depended on it…. and is all alone!

PlayingByTheGreekRules-Jan2015

Enters Nik Zervakis, her infamous Greek playboy/billionaire employer and their first time encounter is wet and hot! Nik Zervakis is anti-family, anti-emotions, anti-love, and runs in the opposite direction of any woman who sheds a tear. But Lily stops him in his tracks and he agrees to be her rebound sex toy and teach her how to wear Kevlar vest to ward off emotions, love and pain.

An agreement of just sex takes Nik and Lily on a journey of turbulent emotions as both try to get over a painful past and belong with each other. Nik fights hard not to fall in love, and Lily is just looking to become someone’s favorite person, for a lifetime. Rules get thrown out the window and the heart rules this game of love.

“Playing By The Greek’s Rules” is a charismatic story of rib tickling dialogues, of empathy and support and getting past barriers for a future together. There were sections of Lily’s past that tears you up, yet keeps a smile on the lips with her enthusiasm and zest for life.
