Tough on the outside, with a heart as big as Wyoming. Protective to the core, fairness and kindness running in blood. And when the tough have to wage a battle for love, heart and soul takes to the knees. Let’s meet the Wilde cousins running the  Dark Horse Dive Bar.

Jax Wilde loves his close knit family, his ranch and the Dark Horse Dive Bar that has been in the family. A cowboy to the core and grateful for what was given to him, he never realized what was missing in his life until Layla Brock stepped onto his ranch and into his life.

Landscape artist and widowed Layla Brock is mesmerized by the vast Wyoming beauty and even more enamored by the kindhearted cowboy. As much as she’s attracted to Jax, she comes with a baggage of secrets that she intends to take to her grave.

Two beautiful souls, hearts filled with hope and love, Jax and Layla let the spark of attraction ignite into a fire that has no intention of dying down. With Jax and his family as her protection, Layla will fight every evil shadow that is dogging her.

Every story that Jennifer Ryan pens, is always a surprise read for me as she plots and narrates with intense insight. Just when I think they can’t get any better, she weaves a stunning story of two people, hearts as big as the Wyoming sky and pure as snow, as they vow to battle any demons that come their way.

An alluring story!!

A new series, new characters, with a glimpse fo the olden and golden characters making a welcome appearance.

Katie Reus’s new series, Redemption Harbor Security” spears ahead with Jessie Lenox “Fighting For Haley”, to keep her in his life. A self made millionaire rising from the ashes of foster care, Jessie always had a soft spot for Haley that grew into love. But circumstances and life has a way of coming in between two lovers, driving them apart. Years later, fate gives Haley and Jessie another chance at love as all the foster siblings come together to save one of their very own.

I like these new characters in her new series. Loyal, faithful and devoted to each other, I’d love to see the rest of the siblings finding their true love.

Kenzie Macallan, a new writer and a new read on my list. Heading into her Deep 8 series way down the list to her fourth book “Risk”, with Campbell Creighton laying down his life for his Quinn Donovan

With AI being the hot topic of the current world, Kenzie weaves an intriguing story around this very concept, and if we are talking about AI, then politics, conspiracies, power, money and betrayal are not far behind. With technology outspacing humans, it’s a power struggle for survival of the fastest and the richest!

Genius brother and sister duo, Liam and Quin are working on an AI nuclear weapon in a top secret location that is compromised. With her brother MIA, Quinn reaches out to her trusted friend and security specialist, Campbell for help before being kidnapped. The burden of rescue now falls on Cam and his team of special operatives, to thwart whatever the political and power plan was set in operation. And Cam will need his head in the game, if he wants to protect his heart and life, Quinn to bring her back safely.

A fairly new Indie writer in my opinion, “Risk” starts off a bit slow but gets going as we get into the fifth chapter and onwards. But Kenzie Macallan has the imagination and the forte to narrate a story with a genuine plot, keeping the flow of the story interesting and making sure the chemistry among the characters is strong enough to carry the storyline.

Kenzie Macallan is an author to look out for and she’s caught enough of my attention to add her to my list.

It’s always a pleasure reading Katie Reus and if that story is an extension of Red Stone Security, even better for her ardent readers. “Protecting Rebel” features billionaire Weston and his childhood friend and musical start Rebel, as they come face to face after a long time. Yes, they kept in touch as they went their separate ways, but always had a connection with each other, and Weston’s aunt as the common denominator. But never confessed their feelings for each other.

Weston’s aunt funeral and a threat to Rebel, keep them in each other’s paths. Weston will move heaven and earth to keep Rebel safe, and Rebel is ready to come home to where her heart really is.

And it always is a pleasure when you hear mentions of the founders of Red Stone Security and come across agents that make appearances in various stories.

Book 21 of the Red Stone Security series is another HEA and feel good story.

“Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.” ~ George Bernard Shaw ~

Planting roots and making a life for herself, is Morgan Albright’s desire. With a house to her name, two satisfying jobs, friends and family as her support, Morgan is cruising life and enjoying finding herself in the process. A chance encounter with a stranger whom she likes, a normal occurrence of a relationship that she hopes may lead to something more, actually transcends to extremely tragic circumstances. Morgan not only loses her best friend, but also her life as she is stripped off of her life, her goals and her identity.

Identity theft is such a common and devastating occurrence in our current world, and reinventing yourself is no mean task. With the help of her mother and her grandmother, Morgan realizes what happened to her is not what she is, but what she chooses to become now, will be her identity. Creating a new life, takes immense courage and strength and Morgan has that in spades.

“Identity” is a psychological thriller, following Morgan’s struggle to create a new life, staying one step ahead of a pathological killer, having faith to trust and embrace love. Roping in Miles Jameson to support Morgan with her struggle, sparking honesty and love, binding her with relationships, giving her the confidence to believe in planting roots again, is testament of the fact that there are good and kind people in this world.

Any story by Nora Roberts is always topnotch with narration, plot and incorporating intense research. Peppered with witty dialogues, springing a love story amidst danger, developing relationships and giving characters a chance to create themselves, “Identity” is an extraordinary story
