It looks like the town of Solitude, Oregon, may finally put the evil lurking in the dark to rest. “Walking On Her Grave” is the fourth installment, in the thrilling and suspenseful Rogue River Series, co-written by Kendra Elliot and Melinda Leigh.

With sleepy Solitude as Ground Zero for a new drug that is taking lives of prominent citizens of the town, Carly and Seth are caught in the crossfires of danger along with Stevie and Zane as they race against time to put an end to the manufacturers and the distributors.

WalkingOnHerGrove-RogueRiver4-Nov2014

A key teenage witness disappears, and Carly is thrown into danger as she tries to find the boy before he ends up dead. Seth wants to keep his wife away from harm’s way, but with everyone in the town been a suspect, its hard to trust or depend on anyone.

When Seth and Carly get too close to identifying the killer, Seth gets too close to death and Carly realizes she’s never stopped loving Seth and she can’t live without him in her life. Now they have to race against time to bring the killer to justice before Seth and Carly can get a second chance at making their marriage work, and keep their family together.

Walking On Her Grave gives a fitting end to the Rogue River Series. It is a brilliant compilation of four stories, as emotions and relationships are explored, trust and love is put to test, and loyalty and duty goes beyond normal.

For the uninitiated or new readers, this series would be a great start to get to know two wonderful authors/writers.

I love Rachel Grant and her Evidence Series. Body Of Evidence (Book 2) is a brilliantly crafted story of political mayhem and corruption with the innocents in the crosshairs of war and death.

Archeologist Mara Garrett’s job is to retrieve dead GIs and bring them home. Excavating in North Korea, she never dreams that she would end being arrested, labeled as a spy and sentenced to death.

BodyOfEvidence-RachelGrant-Oct2014

US Attorney Curt Dominic is her only saving grace, but unfortunately this ambitious attorney is prosecuting her uncle who was the former Vice President. Curt has enough evidence to bring Mara’s uncle to justice, but still needs her as a key witness to testify.

Curt literally saves Mara from facing the firing squad within seconds to spare, and the trip back to the US ends up being sabotaged. What started off as a rescue quickly turns into a deadly game of danger and death. With a known enemy on their trail, Mara and Curt have to trust each other to keep their bodies breathing.

Body Of Evidence is a fabulous ride of thrill and suspense as Mara and Curt try to outwit the enemy across the globe. Mara and Curt is an intoxicating couple and Rachel Grant has done a stupendous job writing them. With passion sizzling between them, and a trial that keeps them apart, loyalties are tested, and love is put in the crosshairs of a conspiracy that not only threatens to tear them apart but also puts national security at risk.

I thought Concrete Evidence (Book 1) was an adrenaline rush, but Body Of Evidence beats it with guns blazing!

About PUSHING THE LIMIT
After their one-night fling at a wedding, archaeologist Henrietta “Harry” Markowitz thought she’d never see war hero Matt Stanning again. So when they’re paired up to investigate a military plane crash in Iraq, she’s not sure if the three-month reunion is serendipitous or cursed. What she does know is this gorgeous man lights her body on fire-and incredible sex is always a welcome distraction. Air Force Sergeant Matt Stanning has been called a hero, but he feels nothing like one when he realizes the sexy blonde in his bed is the widow of his fallen brother-in-arms. Even worse, he actually has to work with her, and she’s unearthed evidence that points to a military conspiracy. If they dig deeper, they’ll put their lives in danger. If they don’t, they’ll never know the truth-not only about the mysterious plane crash, but about each other.

She’s lived in London, Paris and New York, and has settled for the time being, in North Carolina. When not writing, Emmy loves to travel with her military husband and take long walks with their Lab. All things considered, her life is chock full of hoot, just a little bit of nanny. And if you get that reference…well, she already considers you kin.

I like Susan Kearney and her books. I’ve read a few of hers previously and she does a good job of giving her readers a strong plot and narration. Her new release “Secrets Of Moore House” is an appealing read.

A fire destroys Jasmine Ross’s home and her everything is turned into ashes. A mysterious letter dated 25 years ago, rekindles her desire to search for her missing mother, a search that takes into the Moore household, a family that was supposedly related to her and the head of the family Talbot Moore, being her father. But Talbot has been a victim of a fire himself and his body has been put to rest three months ago. As she steps into that household to find the truth, all she sees is resentment, anger and motive for anyone to be the perpetrator.

SecretsOfMooreHouse-SusanKearney-Oct2014

Rand Sinclair is Talbot Moore’s partner and he is the only who gives a marginal scope for Jasmine to stay in the house and get to the bottom of the threat. The enigmatic and handsome Rand has his own agenda of wanting to help Jasmine as he is falling for her innocence and courage. As accidental incidents push Jasmine to the boundaries of questioning her sanity, he is the only one who believes in her story and her quest for finding the truth of what had happened 25 years ago.

The plot is a little tepid, but the narration and evolution was interesting. It does keep you wanting to get to the bottom of the mystery, and the ending was a surprise as well. Although I did feel that the romance between Jasmine and Rand (as a sub plot), would have been developed a little bit more, rather than make abrupt confessions. I also would have liked a little bit more depth into the secondary characters to make it more intriguing and keep the guessing game going on.

All in all, it is a good enjoyable one time read.

I can’t get over the fact how thrilling and sensual Katie Reus’s books are. Every single book is a story of suspense, passion and immense chemistry overflowing each page.

“Dangerous Surrender” is book#4 of her series “The Serafina: Sin City”. No different from the adrenaline rush of reading her previous books, yet stands apart from her other books in the series. Taylor is a computer genius, hacker and investigator, and discovers fraud and embezzlement in her company. The partner kills her boss and mentor, and she gets framed for the murder. On the run and with avenues closed off, she escapes to Vegas to get help from her friend Vadim. Unfortunately Vadim is on his honeymoon, and she breaks into the house to stay safe.

DangerousSurrender-Serafina4-Oct2014

Roman is an ex-marine; working for the infamous and super wealthy Christiansen, and he’s been delegated the job of house-sitting and dog sitting while Vadim is on his honeymoon. As much as he is impressed with Taylor for breaking into a high security house, Taylor trying to knock him out does not sit very well with him. But she sure knocks his socks off with her intelligence and fearlessness.

With misunderstandings out of the way, Taylor brings out all his protective instincts along with spades of instant chemistry and attraction. As they try to bring the killer to justice, Taylor and Roman explore each other’s feelings and give into each other. But will it last once the killer is apprehended is a million dollar question.

Fast paced, creative story line, a beautiful and intelligent Taylor, and an alpha marine Roman – Dangerous Surrender” is instant gratification!!!
