The third book in the Montana Born Brides Series, “Bride By Mistake” by Nicole Helm has Kaitlin Shuller and Beckett Larson at loggerheads as they battle antagonism and sudden love for each other.

BrideByMistake-NicoleHelm-May2015

Kaitlin and Beckett end up having a one night of consoling sex that has Kate pregnant, unsure and emotional. Beckett had always had feelings for Kate, but he’s got a history of running away from problems. But with Kate he decides to face them, and confess his love for her. Kate is going through an emotional high as she sees the man of her dreams marry her sister, and now been pregnant with Beckett’s baby leaves her insecure and emotional.

I thought both Kate and Beckett needed more character development. The story is short and seemed rushed into a conclusion. Although it’s an okay read, I really wasn’t able to connect with the characters or the story, and definitely missed the aura that usually surrounds the town of Marietta.

I’ve decided to retire to Marietta and get a permanent ringside seat to all the excitement that seems to grace this little enchanting town. Bachelor auctions, hot cowboys, unsuspecting love weaving magic, and the essence of romance filling the air is just perfect, as these potpourri of authors create love stories around these wonderful people.

The second book in the Montana Born Brides brings out “His Blushing Bride” Piper Tierney even as Sebastian Bloom wants to fight his feelings for her. On a break from his doctorate program, Bastian comes to Marietta to attend his sister’s wedding and ends up falling head over heals for the shy and blushing Piper.

HisBlushingBride-MontanaBrides2-DaniCollins-May2015

Taking over from her father, Piper is the music teacher in Marietta High. Born with a birthmark on her face and having endured childhood teasing and bullying, Piper maybe a successful and beautiful, but her history with the opposite sex has a lot of learning to be done. And Sebastian charms her pants off and they fall into an affair that is supposed to be temporary or can Bastian convince Piper into becoming the next Marietta bride?

Dani Collins writes some really sweet love stories. I loved the fact that she gave her heroine a flaw that could happen to anyone. I admire the way she made Piper into this strong and independent woman, yet vulnerable and sensitive, wanting to be loved for who she is, a beauty inside out. And this beautiful lady sends Bastian into an emotional roller coaster as he tries to fathom his feeling for Piper and convince her of his love being genuine and permanent.

Another charming romance in the town of Marietta, and it’s always so very wonderful to revisit characters from the previous stories.

TheFairyTaleBride-ScarletWilson-May2015

Heading the new series titled “The Montana Born Brides”, Scarlet Wilson comes up with the first wedding in Marietta, and the bride is the sweetest and the most amazing kind person we can come across Lisa Renee. She owns the bridal salon in the town, and she has seen many a brides wear her dresses. She finds happiness in their happiness, thrives in keeping her clients satisfied and brings smiles and fairy tales to the needy, as a volunteer at the Marietta Hospital. And her fairy tales brings her own Prince Charming in the guise of Dr. Adam Brady.

Adam Brady is all ready to set roots in Marietta, away from the nosy gossip columns and attention he’s garnered as on the billionaire lotto winners. Marietta hides his past; he loves the quiet and the calm, thrives in the warmth of the citizens of Marietta and now finds himself weaving dreams of a future with Lisa.

These short stories are brimming with warmth and love, pain and endurance, loss and gain as Scarlet Wilson weaves a fairy tale for Lisa and Adam. Two wonderful and caring people trying to overcome insecurities and uncertainties, following their heart and trusting each other with their lives, “The Fairy Tale Bride” tugs at your heartstrings with its emotions and passion as Lisa and Adam come together…. forever.

Not sure what it is, but somehow “Caught Up In You” was very slow to catch my interest and keep me reading. For a short novella, it took me a couple of days to finish this story.

Declan is a famous artist coming back to his hometown The Bay and wanting to set roots after years of wanderlust. Besides caring for his aging father, his main goal is to get the girl of his dreams. Having fled the altar a few times before, he has a lot of convincing to do, if he wants to gain Shelby’s trust and his plans for the future with her…. forever.

CaughtUpInYou-Kimboykin-Apr2015

Having a crush on Declan forever, Shelby tries hard to stay away from commitment scared Declan, but then fate has other plans. First crush turns into something deeper, but Shelby has lots of insecurities to overcome before she can see how serious Declan is about loving her.

The storyline is good, but I feel that Shelby and Declan got the raw end of the deal of this novella with no development of character. I am not saying “Caught Up In You” is a bad read, it’s quite the contrary, but it definitely lacked some charm and magnetism between these two. The secondary characters were good adding a bit of charm to the story.

Kim Boykin is a first time author on my list, and despite the missing magic, I may circle back to her.

Talk about an interesting and different story! Co-written by Catherine Mann and Joanne Rock, “The Wedding Audition” (Runaway Bride Series 2), is easy on the mind, charming to read and warm to the heart.

TheWeddingAudition-RunawayBrideSeries-Mann&JoanneRock-Apr2015

Runaway reality star and soon-to-be-ex-bride Annamae Jessup leaves behind a cable network show and takes a road trip to visit her roots. Her trip lands her in the apple orchards of Wynn Rafferty, a cop in a witness protection program. Annamae brings the gossip and tabloids in her wake, and Wynn tries to save her and himself from the threat of a Mafia lord.

With felines and canines for company, Annamae discovers more than she bargained for, and in the process rediscovers herself and what she really wants to make of her life. Attraction and desire spark lust and love, and Wynn and Annamae succumb to the fire of passion.

Witty dialogues and a sassy Grandma make this story even more fun to read. I have always loved Catherine Mann, and now Joanne Rock is a first time read, and this combo created a pretty magnetic story for the readers. Annamae is just hilarious and a bundle of surprises and Wynn is the ever magnetic and sweet guy who falls head over heels his raw harvest skills for the reality star.

Enjoyable and romantic, “The Wedding Auction” definitely spreads smiles.
