I’ve always liked Lora Leigh. She writes some gritty dark romances and some adrenaline pumping romances. Her “Men Of Summer” series is just as compelling and captivating.

Ex-Navy Seal Jazz Lanacing knows that the woman he’s attracted to reminds him of a friend long lost and gone and can never come back. Yet he can’t seem to keep his distance from Annie.

WickedLies-MenOfSummer3-Sept2015

Annie Mayers is back in her hometown after the death of her beloved uncle, but she keeps to herself and her job as a teacher. She refuses to acknowledge her past feelings for Jazz to keep him safe and her identity a secret.

But fate is funny that way and destiny brings Jazz and Annie together. With Annie’s secret out in the open, Jazz has to move heaven and earth to keep her safe from the clutches of her mafia family. With danger and deceit lurking in the shadows, Jazz has a monumental task of putting his trust in that very family to keep Annie safe.

Second book in the series, “Wicked Lies” is gritty and a dangerously erotic read of two people bound by the past and victims of the present. And Lora Leigh does what she always does the best, write stories of ultra protective alpha males and courageous females who overcome adversity and pain to live what rightfully belongs to them.

I started off my first review of the Grey Justice Series “Nothing To Lose”, with the following –

“Funny thing about humans is, at our best we can be the most noble of animals, but if not governed by law and justice, some tend to become the monsters of all monsters! Money, power and fame are not vices in the right hands, but once they get into the monsters’ hands, and innocent lives are at stake, it’s a different ball game.”

And the domino affect of this is the very essence of the following stories of the entire series written by Christy Reece.

WhateverItTakes-GrayJustice2-Fall2015

As a member of that very evil family, Eli Slater has been working nonstop to clear the family name, destroy the traces of evil, leave the shadows of a past that threaten his future, and create a life for his two adorable daughters and the rest of his family. But when unforeseen threats bring danger and death to his threshold, Eli will protect his family…

Until his last breath – with whatever he’s got and “Whatever It Takes!!!”

Kathleen Callahan has been in the best of places and the worst of places as she loses her sister to an evil with justice going against her and her entire life is on a precipice of pain and betrayal. Yet, she finds herself fighting for justice, with the help of Justice and accepting the inevitable shades of Grey to help innocent victims and bring closer to helpless families. But never giving up her fight to find the truth behind her sister’s death and the events two decades old that seem to connect Eli and Kathleen for the fight of their lives and that of their loved ones…

And she will get justice for her sister with tenacity and “Whatever It Takes!!!”

There is no doubting the writing prowess of Christy Reece!!!! Her ability to create characters with courage, integrity and empathy, her brilliance in weaving stories of loss and pain, see-sawing between the lines of white and black, connecting the players with the past and bringing a closer in the present for a future for each, Christy is one of the most compelling writers of romance thrillers I’ve had the pleasure of reading.

I am a sucker for the underdog and the fallen rising with a vengeance to beat the odds, and of women who overcome their fears and betrayal to come out the other side with courage and integrity. For this alone Eli Slater will be one of most favorite fictional characters and along with Kathleen, one of my courageous couples of fiction times!

And let me assure you that each book can be read as a standalone, but what fun is it if not knowing where it had all begun…

Win Me Over – Won Me Over!

“Win Me Over” is one of the most entertaining books I’ve read this year and Nicole Michaels is fast becoming one of my favorite to-go writers in recent history. An ex-pro player and football coach with a painful past and a positively, sassy dance coach cum bakery owner make for a combustible love story, and there’s no shortage of insecurities and hurt that these two have to endure to get their HEA, makes one heck of a story.

WinMeOver-NicoleMichaels-Nov2015

Football Coach Bennett Clark is more than a football coach – he is a mentor for his players and takes personal interest in their lives to keep them in line and out of trouble. He’s seen his dreams break into pieces and he wants to ensure his students are prepared for life’s surprises, both good and bad.

Callie Daniels is a self-made businesswoman, running a bakery and being a coach to the dance team at the local high school. Independent, kind and ever helpful she makes Bennett’s heart dance to her tunes and loses her heart in the process.

Nicole Michaels did a brilliant job of scripting emotions of love and pain, loss and gain, support and friendship of a couple wanting to dance to a HEA. With a good narration and a charming ensemble of characters, “Win Me Over” is a winner for me.

The Dark Kings of the Realm never cease to entice us, dazzle us or scorch us with their desire to save the innocent, their passion for their intended mates and fight for peace within the various clans.

And it all seems to be coming together – those penultimate events leading to the big showdown between two powerful dragon kings!!! Donna Grant has written such an intriguing and mesmerizing screenplay of the powerful dragon kings; you can’t but be totally drawn into their love and war.

PassionIgnites-DarkKings-Nov2015-DonnaGrant

“Passion Ignites” wakens dragon king Thorn from slumber to fighting the Dark Fae and keeping the innocents safe. And in this battle he comes face to face with a courageous and brave human Lexi, trying to find justice for her slayed friend in a foreign land.

Protecting Lexi from the Dark Fae becomes Thorn’s mission and sending her far away by sacrificing his love becomes his goal that never sees fruition. With death dogging Lexi and the Dark Fae getting closer to their goal, Thorn is torn between his mission and his love.

“Passion Ignites” can be read as a standalone, but what fun would it is to read the entire series and get to know the history of the dragon kings and their journey from the shadows to light to fighting for their survival as they find love and friendship along the way.

I love the way Donna Grant makes sure that each book has a brief history of the past and connecting to the present for new readers. The books don’t have to be read in sequence, or read at all to follow their journey. But then who can resist these powerful Dragon Kings as they vow to keep their love safe and protect the innocent.

Christmas is the season of giving and cheer, it is the season of love and romance and it is the season of family, friends and miracles. And this the season that brings out utterly delicious love stories from some of my favorite writers…and heading that list for me is Melanie Shawn.

ChristmasWish-HopeFallsNovella-Dec2015

Their surprise release, “Christmas Wish” is just that – a delightful read of new relationships, new beginnings and a miracle that gives a mother and her disabled a daughter a fairy tale of a life.

Kyle Austen Reed is the typical handsome devil of a guy, a movie star with a big heart. And is all smitten with in-trouble-mother Aurora Rose. As goofy and hilarious Kyle was in the previous stories, he’s just too adorable not to fall in love.

Aurora Rose is just a firecracker of a mother, with the world falling apart, her entire focus is her daughter and her daughter’s happiness. Two individuals attracted to each other and throw in a daughter with an amazing talent for blogging and just making everyone around her laugh and fall in love with her positivity and courage.

A fairy tale of wishes coming true, of keeping that faith and hope for better things, of courage and miracles, of emotions and insecurities, “Christmas Wish” gives the readers a miracle of a read.

Irresistible, Endearing and Lovable!!!
