Alissa Callen’s new series “Montana Born Rodeo” is another series born out of Montana, the big-hearted cowboys and their stories as they lasso in the women of their dreams. Big skies, people with large hearts, warmth and love in big doses, these stories are just that – warm, lovable and charming. And Alissa Callen does what she’s good at – writing captivating love stories that go straight to the heart.

Kendall Dixon has lived her entire life in Marietta, and she has realized that she’s in a good place. With her dreams of becoming a landscaper on the back burner, she doesn’t let family obligations deter her dreams of becoming one, albeit a degree and she thrives on determination and grit to make her dream come true. With things falling into place, if only her heart would stop wanting that one cowboy who had left her body and taken her heart forever. But looks like fate has a different story lined up for Dell as circumstances bring back her lost cowboy Brent Ashton back to Marietta.

Brent had always loved and will love Kendall. Not wanting to hold back Kendall from her dreams and aspirations, circumstances and Brent make a decision to leave Marietta. But now with his mother’s health at stake, Brent comes back to take care of her and realizes that his heart still beats for Kendall. As he works to fix the ranch and his homestead, he hopes to mend the fences of his lost love and Kendall is more than willing to give her cowboy a second chance.

Short, sweet and utterly charming, Alissa Callen weaves another story of love, romance and second chances, as she brings the characters of Marietta together. It’s nice reading a series, yet not having to read them in a sequence. With interesting family dynamics and supporting characters, “Hold Me Cowboy” is a nice reading pleasure.

Ryker Evans has a lot riding for him as the top-notch goalie of the Carolina Cold Fury hockey team. He’s hot on ice, his numbers are off the chart and his passion for the new General Manager of the team seems to fire the ice in the rink. Despite of a marriage gone down the drain, Ryker is in a happy place with the custody of his adorable daughters and at the pinnacle of his career. He is just one of those guys with a glass half full, enjoying the small pleasures in life and grateful for little things thrown his way.

Ryker-ColdfuryHockey-SawyerBennet-Sept2015

As the first woman General Manager of a national league hockey team, Gray Brannon has her job cut out for her, to prove her worth and her management skills in keeping the team together to win the Stanley Cup. She’s no wall flower with her immense experience as an Olympic hockey gold medalist and her educational qualifications and numbers strategy seem to keep the men at bay. Sawyer Bennett did a stupendous job of giving Gray just the right doses of being a woman in a testosterone rink, yet enough courage and confidence to believe in her ability to succeed in a man’s world.

Two wonderfully beautiful people, skilled in their professions, confident in their love and trusting each other with their hearts, Ryker and Gray have a sizzling relationship that fires the heart and the ice. A fabulous continuation of the Cold Fury Series, Sawyer Bennett sure puts her heart and soul into the key players of this series. I love her attention to details, her insight into the tiny nuances of relationships, the importance of family, support and friendship.

Another captivating stand alone read, as Ryker and Gray battle the boundaries of a relationship between an employee and employer, and the sacrifices they are willing to make for each other, with respect and love, no questions asked!

Readers familiar with the Sloan Brothers of Melanie Shawn and the Sullivans of Bella Andre would enjoy the Kelly Brothers with equal fervor. Crista McHugh’s Kelly Brothers are an amazing bunch of talented and super loving hunks, raised by a super awesome mother and the family dog Jasper. I’ve read and re-read all of them a few times over and enjoy them more each time.

Kelly brother number 7, Gideon has all the charm and sexiness of a movie star and he is at the pinnacle of his career. Yet rooted to the ground by his family values and love for the humanity, he’s hard to resist and a temptation that every woman wants a bite of. But “The Kid” has only eyes for Sarah Holtz and his heart belongs to her now and forever.

HereAllAlong-KellyBrothers7-CristaMcHugh-Aug2015

But convincing Sarah is a gigantic job that requires a screenplay skillfully written and choreographed with loyal characters and family support. Sarah has seen the pinnacle of stardom and the rock bottom depths of depression and drugs. For her Gideon is her savior and life support, but she wants to stand on her own strength before she can stand on equal footing with Gideon.

I love Crista and her penchant for weaving stories that leave her readers with laughs and love, tears and heartbreaks, meddling friends and staunch supporters. “Here All Along” had me in splits as Gideon along with his co-star Gabe try to rope in Sarah, the interaction between these two is plain hilarious. Gideon as the superstar yet the vulnerable man in love have us rooting for him all the way.

And Sarah as the girl who has lost everything, yet as the woman who may have a chance at everything is just a classic beauty of courage and determination. I just loved her and she was “Here All Along”, right next to her future and took her a while to accept the love and trust she was lucky to have found.

What can I say about Crista McHugh – she’s been and will be one of my all time favorite writers. She writes such genuine love stories that are so relatable to our daily lives and makes reading them such a pleasure. Simple, classy and charming creations are her fictions.

Debra Salonen’s Marietta, Montana love stories are heartwarming to read, full of family values and the unconditional love and support extends to extended families and more. The characters are so interwoven and connected in ways that make these stories interesting to ready and Debra is good with keeping the flow of the story going strong and captivating.

Flynn Benson meets Kat Robinson and that instant attraction flares between them, but then Flynn has insecurities that question his very job of search and rescue, and Kat has parental obligations that don’t leave room for relationships. But then Kat is in Marietta for a reason that Flynn is not aware that would cause quiet a stir on the little town.

“Montana Hero” book 6 in the Big Sky Maverick series, is another Marietta love story that takes you on a journey of finding one’s identity and build trust that may result in a lifelong relationship love and family. It deals with current issues of Alzheimer and Asperger, so very common in our world. Debra builds a good short and sweet story around Flynn, Kat and Brady…rich in emotions and full of love.
