Once in a while it’s just utterly serene and delicious to read a romance without too much frills and shrills. A quite romance with just the hero and heroine, finding their way with each other, connecting with their thoughts and feelings, a few supportive friends and an uncomplicated family thrown into the mix, there’s nothing more romantic and enchanting than falling into a pure, simple love story.

SecretKiss-HopeFalls10-MelanieShawn-Jul2015

The duo sisters of Melanie and Shawna have been one of my all time top favorites and have read all their books; the Sloans being one of their most sizzling and charming creations to date. And the Hope Falls Series continues its journey of romance and entertainment with perfect kisses, secret crushes and happily-ever-after.

“Secret Kiss” is such charmer of a story and even more dazzling are Adam Dorsey and Jane Marshall. Ex-CIA and used to living a life of undercover and deceit, all Adam wants is to take it easy and put his nerdy brain to work on his software. But fate had a different plan and throws him into the path of his destiny, Jane Marshall. Lovable, innocent and ever helpful Jane crushes on Adam and circumstances makes Adam her boyfriend.

As Adam tries to put a closure to a thorny past, Jane infiltrates into his heart with no hope of escape. Acting as her boyfriend sparks the flames of desire and the proximity only ignites the passion both can’t resist. As lust heats the sheets, humor coats their days and family fuels their relationship, it is only a matter of time for love to build a nest in their hearts.

Full of humor and warmth, friendship and support, witty banter and family teasing, “Secret Kiss” is just perfect to heal a heart, bring a smile to the lips and fill us with hopes of goodness all around us.

Here’s another writer/author that I dig reading her sweet romances and wonderful characters. I’ve been following her for quite some time now, and she just grew leaps and bounds with her narration and writing prowess. I love her Montgomery Series as much as her individual novels and now she brings The Shaughnessy Brothers into the pool.

MadeForUs-ShaughnessyBrothers1-SamanthaChase-aug2015

“Made For Us” leads the way to another very promising series and I believe Aidan Shaughnessy will top the charts as my favorite. Losing his mother in his growing hears, eldest of six siblings and carrying the weight of the family on his young shoulders, he never realized that life has passed by him. Helping his father run the household is second nature that molds him into being a perfectionist, stubborn and his way is the highway. And he absolutely has no time or interest to rock his life of normalcy and make any changes.

And enters the fiery interior decorator Zoe Dalton, and Aidan’s normal life hurricanes out of control. He wants her, desires her, lusts her, but he doesn’t want her to rock the equation of his life. Zoe is an amazing character of patience, warmth and understanding, strong and independent, yet yearning for a family to belong to, she just steals your heart. She teaches Aidan to laugh, to romance, to cry and to love, and the entire story was just screen-played to a beautiful perfection of a read.

Samantha Chase just touched my heart with her portrayal of Aidan to perfection, and I can relate to his every fear and insecurity. It’s not easy to pen such a complex character, and she did with an amazing creative flair. I will treasure the first Shaughnessy brother forever and can’t wait to be a part of the rest of this dynamic family and their love stories.

Fool’s Gold is making way to the Mitchell Brothers and their love stories are sure to enthrall and mesmerize us. Susan Mallery writes some ultra sweet romances and Fool’s Gold is one of favorites as I follow the trials and tribulations of wonderful people meant to be together.

ThrillMe-FoolsGold-Jul2015

Once young lovers promising each other the moon and the stars Del Mitchell and Maya Farlow go their separate ways, only to have fate bring them together in the charming town of Fool’s Gold. Thrown together to work on a marketing project, they rediscover themselves as well as realize that their feelings for each other have never faded. Proximity takes them between the sheets, attraction sends sizzles between them, love burns in their hearts and insecurities and trust hold them back from a future that’s meant to be theirs.

Maya and Del are two characters created with an immense depth of character, strong and dependable, independent and supportive, yet leaning on each other as the past hurt fades away to a promising relationship. It’s always wonderful to revisit characters from the previous stories and bringing Zane, Phoebe and Chase just adds more charm and entertainment.

Another emotional and charming story by Susan Mallery, “Thrill Me” brings out the dynamics of a family with too many secrets and regrets among them, and a love that faces the challenges of trust and the fear of heartache and loss. Susan Mallery weaves another sweet story as she introduces the Mitchell brothers, with their many gripes and issues yet showing unconditional love and support when needed.

The Dark Kings of the Realm never cease to entice us, dazzle us or scorch us with their desire to save the innocent, their passion for their intended mates and fight for peace within the various clans.

SoulScorched-DarkKings-DonnaGrant-Jun2015

Warrick is the next in line in her latest release, “Soul Scorched”, to get burned by the passion and love of Darcy, with her powerful magic as a druid. Love and revenge has no boundaries as Warrick and the Dark Kings want to save the innocent and Ulrik wants to sate the revenge burning in his heart. And Darcy gets right into the middle of this eternal battle of love and revenge as Warrick draws her in with his love, and Ulrik wants Darcy to unleash his magic, for him to become the powerful Dragon King he was once.

Love, revenge and magic bring out the dark evil with Darcy’s life on line, and Warrick will go against his King to save Darcy and make her his mate. As I always maintain, Donna Grant can’t go wrong writing these amazing love stories of the Dark Kings, filled with good and evil, power and courage, betrayal and compassion. Each story is an embodiment of her creative prowess and I sure hope we get to see Rhi getting her own closure with her mysterious Dragon King lover.

The synopsis sounded great, the cover was romantic, unfortunately the story lacked depth and character. The second book in The Palmera Royals, “The Royal Affair” is lackluster in its narration and failed to dazzle me with its royalty.

TheRoyalAffair-PalmeraRoyals2-JaneBeckenham-June2015

The premise of the story is actually really good. A royal princess with beauty and charm, Marina Palmera is smart, independent and super successful running her own thriving horse racing business. She falls in love with the successful horse whisperer Jonas Wilder but circumstances break them apart. And now fate brings them back together for a second chance.

As good as the story line may be, if the characters are not developed properly, it’s hard for a reader to relate to them or be with them. For all their success and individuality, I just couldn’t relate to Jonas and Marina or the way the story developed or was narrated. Neither was I very impressed with the journey to their happily ever after.

But I definitely believe Jane Beckenham has lot of potential and I hope with every book, she reaches success. With good grasp of language and creativity, it is only a matter of time for her to become a good writer, and I may circulate back to her.
