The Whiskey River series are as different and diverse as the amazing authors penning the love stories of the infamous Boots brothers along with their newfound Blues brothers.

OneNightWithTheBadBoy-WhiskeyCreek4-EveGaddy-Aug2015

Book four of the series “One Night With The Bad Boy”, finds the IT genius Xander Blue, falling hard for the CFO of Kelly Boots, Bailey Richmond. With a reputation of a bad boy and number of notches under his belt, Xander is fascinated with Bailey, with her beauty and her brains and frustrated with the distance she wants to maintain between them.

Bailey has been bitten hard, once. And her stature as a single mother only keeps her from getting into any relationships that might hurt her or her son. Focusing on her career and spending as much times as possible with her son, she refuses to acknowledge the sparks of attraction that Xander evokes.

Then again, where there is love there is a way and persistence that pays off. But the road to a future has its share of ups and downs, fears and insecurities. With a billionaire’s heart on the line, a sassy damsel sure is fighting a losing a battle. Xander and Bailey are two strong and independent individuals, lovable to the core, imperfect and totally human and kind. Love these two!

Eve Gaddy sure weaves a captivating story around the Blue brother and Bailey. I loved her focus of giving equal importance to the relationship between the brothers as well as the romance. I admire Eve Gaddy for creating situations where the brothers interact with each other, be it professionally or on a personal level, the narration never lags nor does it lose its charm.

Another charming story of love, family and support “One Night With The Bad Boy”, will leave your heart with warmth and smiles of a happily ever after story.

I am not sure what exactly was the trigger that took my interest away from this book. This is the first book in my reading history that took me more than a month in trying to finish it….trying been the operative word! To me the characters are important as much as the narration and the way the story falls into place. This is one of those books where the characters were just not in my wavelength.

MissMatch-LaurelinMcGee-Jun2015

Andrea Dawson as the matchmaker just did not click with me. Her character was too sketchy and immature for a role of a matchmaker. Despite her redeeming qualities like her wit and reading people, she just did not cater to my reading pheromones.

Blake Donovan is one of the worst characters sketched. For a millionaire and a businessman, he is too childish and immature. He absolutely has no idea what he wants, and I have no clue what Blake’s hang-ups are for him to behave like a jerk.

Language and the plot of “Miss Match” are pretty good, unfortunately it completely missed its mark in catching my interest and honestly I couldn’t finish it. This was an unfortunate ‘mismatch’ to me

Catherine Bybee’s Weekday Brides Series is one of the most beautiful and entertaining series I’ve read and have re-visited several times. I will miss these alpha males with their imperfections and attitude and their equally sassy and independent women.

TreasuredByThursday-WeekdayBrides7-CatherineBybee

The grand finale of the series, “Treasured By Thursday” gives Gabriella Masini, a fitting fairy tale. For all the pain and betrayal that she had endured, the nightmares and scars that plague her in the present, she is one amazing woman who deserves the man of her dreams to cherish her, adore her and love her. And Hunter Blackwell fits that role like a glove.

Touted as one of the most eligible bachelors of times, self-made and a billionaire to the boot, Hunter Blackwell is on the lookout for a temporary wife to get away from the limelight. But when Alliance refuses to take him as a client, a man with the word ‘no’ not in his dictionary, manages to blackmail Gabriella into marriage.

Catherine’s trademark style of witty writing and emotional play of scenes is as always awesome and enthralling. I believe she’s spent an extra caring minutes creating Gabriella and Hunter. Gabriella has blossomed into a savvy and strong woman, overcoming a past that haunts her sometimes, yet it has helped in shaping her independence and individuality. Hunter is the ultimate businessman, ruthless but a heart of gold and when he cares for someone, he gives himself completely.

I loved, loved and loved both these amazing characters. Bringing together the complete entourage of her series was just pure orgasmic! And no words can do justice to this series. It has to be read to enjoy Catherine’s amazing characters and enjoy the screenplay of her various love stories.

Talk about addiction and that would be the The Dare Series by Carly Phillips!! The Dare siblings are as addictive as vintage wine, sinful as black forest cake and utterly scrumptious with their faults and all.

DareToRock-DareSeries7-Aug2015

Book seven the series rocks with Carly Phillips signature narration and weaving a story of long lost love and friendship that finds way back to Avery Dare and Grey Kingston. High school sweethearts, life separates them taking them on different paths. But with fame also comes a time that makes one realize what’s missing in life and famous rock star Grey Kingston wants his Avery back.

With a turbulent childhood that never seems to go away, Avery Dare has made a name for herself as a professional blogger and a woman who has braved the truth of a second family of siblings. Her heart forever belongs to Grey and his love and strength gives her courage to face the demons of a past that threatens her present and future.

As Grey and Avery romance their way to falling all over in love with each again, jealousy and despair seem to threaten their relationship. With family rallying around them, Avery and Grey make a beautiful couple that rocks our world of reading.

Carly Phillips as always brings out the nuances of a family, the dynamics of having stepsiblings and the emotions that portray the fears and insecurities surrounding them. She pays special attention to the characters giving them individuality. Avery’s confrontation with her father is something to read and enjoy.

Can’t wait for the next Dare to fall at the heels of love!
