For the uninitiated readers, “Her Grave Secrets” is the third book in the Rogue River Series, co-written by Kendra Elliot and Melinda Leigh. The first two books are “On Her Father’s Grave” (Kendra Elliot) and “Gone To Her Grave” (Melinda Leigh). So my recommendation is to definitely read in sequence.

“Her Grave Secrets”, is a great continuation as it seems to head into a final showdown with very surprising revelations. I love the way both the writers have kept their unique skills of narration, yet bring the story together in each book they write. The suspense is brilliant, romance sublime and the characters have turned out to be fabulous, with their own personal issues and insecurities, yet supportive of each other.

It’s always a pleasure to read Catherine Bybee….always! She takes us into a world of sweet romance, loss and forever, with a healthy dose of reality….just the kind of stuff we readers need for a rainy day. “Not Quite Forever” (Book 4 – Quite Series) takes us along the journey with Dr. Walt Eddy and the famous romance author Dakota Laurens to their Forever Land.

NotQuiteForever

A mix up at a convention brings Walt and Dakota face to face and sparks ignite instantaneously. As different as chalk and cheese, their meeting is sweet as honey and sexy as silk and rich as velvet. Mutual attraction reels the procrastinating doctor and the over organized author into spending time with each other and into each other.

Dakota believes in romance and happily ever-afters, and the globetrotting doctor does a disappearing act haunted by a painful past. Circumstances bring them together after a short hiatus, and Walt confesses to himself his feelings for Dakota. But Dakota is already on the run from Walt to nurse a broken heart. With the support of some amazing friends and family, it’s up to Walt to convince Dakota he’s done running and ready to settle down.

With pages of sassy dialogues and steamy romance, disagreeable parents and nosy friends, holidays and sickness, Walt and Dakota sure tap dance around each other to finally get their forever. I love the way Catherine gives importance to the depth of relationships and the maturity of nurturing them with patience and love. The choreography of Dakota and Walt’s mother’s relationship was a delightful insight to read. Another charming read all the way!

Erin Nicholas is such a witty author/writer! My first read of hers was the Sapphire Falls Series, and it was a laughing riot all the way. Am I glad, I’ve come across her books and the ever-interesting stories she weaves, and she has become one of my go to writers/authors from her very first book I read.

“No Matter What” is the first in her Billionaire Bargain Series and is a republished work, which is great for me, as I haven’t read it until now. Billionaire Adam Steele is on the lookout for a physical therapist and he wants the best. And gets the best. And he wants and gets Dr. Jaden Monroe for his daughter, little realizing that his heart is in danger of a takeover.

NoMatterWhat-ErinNicholas-Nov2014

Dr. Jaden Monroe quits her job as one of the top physical therapists and is working in a bar, helping a friend. She eyes the handsome billionaire Steele with instant attraction even before the introductions and his need to hire her services for his daughter. With an offer of a million dollars on the table and a chance to fulfill her dream of completing the pediatric rehab wing at the hospital, she has been working so hard for, Jaden is in jeopardy of losing her heart and soul to the sinfully handsome and protective dad.

“No Matter What” is just not another romantic story. It is a story of a father who would move heaven and earth to protect his daughter. It is a heartwarming narration of a dad standing in the sidelines, worrying and frustrated for not guarding his daughter from pain and loss. And it is the story of an insecure father of a teenager, trying to accept his daughter’s strength and courage, laughter and joy, changes and adjustment, with the usual feelings of indulgence, jealousy and love.

Jaden is an amazingly strong person, tuned to the needs of her patients, sympathetic yet motivating, a task master yet caring, and a friend yet not losing sight of the goals of her patients. With her sassy and don’t care attitude, she gives Adam many a sleepless night and she is not spared either. With passion crackling and love simmering, Adam and Jaden have to find that middle ground to build a future with trust and support.

A charming and enjoyable read all the way through the end, and I can’t wait for Erin Nicholas to bring the next billionaire to his knees.

I like Susan Kearney and her books. I’ve read a few of hers previously and she does a good job of giving her readers a strong plot and narration. Her new release “Secrets Of Moore House” is an appealing read.

A fire destroys Jasmine Ross’s home and her everything is turned into ashes. A mysterious letter dated 25 years ago, rekindles her desire to search for her missing mother, a search that takes into the Moore household, a family that was supposedly related to her and the head of the family Talbot Moore, being her father. But Talbot has been a victim of a fire himself and his body has been put to rest three months ago. As she steps into that household to find the truth, all she sees is resentment, anger and motive for anyone to be the perpetrator.

SecretsOfMooreHouse-SusanKearney-Oct2014

Rand Sinclair is Talbot Moore’s partner and he is the only who gives a marginal scope for Jasmine to stay in the house and get to the bottom of the threat. The enigmatic and handsome Rand has his own agenda of wanting to help Jasmine as he is falling for her innocence and courage. As accidental incidents push Jasmine to the boundaries of questioning her sanity, he is the only one who believes in her story and her quest for finding the truth of what had happened 25 years ago.

The plot is a little tepid, but the narration and evolution was interesting. It does keep you wanting to get to the bottom of the mystery, and the ending was a surprise as well. Although I did feel that the romance between Jasmine and Rand (as a sub plot), would have been developed a little bit more, rather than make abrupt confessions. I also would have liked a little bit more depth into the secondary characters to make it more intriguing and keep the guessing game going on.

All in all, it is a good enjoyable one time read.

Rebecca Zanetti had always been one of my favorite writers/authors, well before I started writing reviews for any books. Her Maverick Montana Series is one of my all-time favorites that I’ve visited innumerable times!

Paranormal for me was an iffy genre, which thanks to Cynthia Eden, have lost myself hook, line and sinker! And now Rebecca Zanetti is right there next to my favorite paranormal writers Cynthia Eden and Donna Grant. And as a voracious reader, my husband’s fighting a losing battle with the realm of vampires, shifters, demons etc…etc… 😉

The Dark Protector Series is a fascinating series of fearless male vampires, prophesized to be mated to human females for eternity. Dark with midnight intensity, raw passion that takes our breath away, and a fierce love that defies all boundaries, these powerful alpha males would do anything to protect their own and their people.

Fated – Three hundred year old vampire Talen Kayrs, saves Cara Paulsen and her extraordinary gifted daughter Janie, from the clutches of the evil. Janie is touted to be the one to bring down all evil in eternity and Talen would lay down his life for them.

TheDarkProtectors-1to4-RebeccaZanetti-Oct2014

Claimed Emma Paulsen (Cara Paulsen’s sister) is on the run trying to stay alive. A brilliant geneticist and a powerful psychic, she would lay her life down for her family and defy Dage Kayrs if necessary. As the King Of The Realm, Dage is fighting a war with the evil Kurjans, along with his brothers, trying to find a cure for an evil virus been spread and at the same time maintain balance and peace in the realm. And for this, he would do anything to protect his realm, Emma and mate her for eternity.

Tempted Sara Pringle escapes a mental institution and is on the run from her vindictive brother who is ready to sell her to the Kurjans. With her life as a schoolteacher on hold, she has no choice but to trust the ass-kicking, enigmatic Max Petrovsky and put her life in his hands. Primal need and protective instincts dictate Max to do what needs to be done to keep his mate safe.

Hunted – It’s been a century since Conn had marked Moira Dunn, quantum physics witch, as his mat; a century away from her, as he gave her time to grow up, harness her powers and go back to him. But with the Realm getting ready for a war with the Kurjans, and allies changing hands, Connlan Kayrs had enough of the wait and goes to get back his wickedly hot and sinful witch.

This is just the first 4 part volume and there are more Dark Protectors waiting in the wings to be read. Anyone wanting to take a plunge into the other realm and get acquainted with the paranormal over a cuppa coffee…go for it. A fabulous series, with a super fabulous author/writer at the helm.
