This is one author who doesn’t need an introduction, writes some amazing stories with some awesome characters, and there’s always some wicked passion that is out of this world!!!!

And book one “Twisted Up” in her new two books series Taking Chances, is just as romantic, wickedly sexy and full of witty dialogues that gets our heats in a twist with warmth and passion as Erin Nicholas takes us on a ride to Chance, Nebraska, the little town infamous for its tornados year after year!

TwistedUp-TakingChance#1-ErinNicholas-Aug2016

As the Fire Chief and Head of Management of Emergency Management, Avery Sparks is a pro at handling disasters. But Jake Mitchell is one resident of Chance that she cannot seem to handle. Jake Mitchell had places to go and disasters to recover and as a nationally recognizable disaster recovery specialist, he’s supposed to be heading to DC.

But a tornado called Avery sparks old passion and as they both fire up the barn, a real tornado rips through Chance bringing Avery and Jake to work closely with each other. They are more than capable of handling emergencies together, but will they be able to handle the disaster that is their hearts and overcome the fears and uncertainties is altogether another storm.

This is why I love Erin Nicholas!!! She pays detailed attention in penning a story that makes you go through a whole gauntlet of emotions, be it Avery’s past and the impact on her present, the equation between Jake’s parents and Avery, or the chemistry and relationship between Avery and Jake – every single emotion is written to perfection for me. And unless her books are read, the full impact of her humor, passion, romance or her characters can never be understood or enjoyed to the fullest.

It has been a long time since I read Elisabeth Naughton and her latest release “Repressed” is the perfect book to dig into, captivating me as always with her suspense and romance, bringing back memories of why she’s one of my favorites!

For Samantha Parker, coming back to Hidden Falls after eighteen years brings back hazy memories and nightmares that seem to haunt her. Teaching high school chemistry and living in Hidden Falls is not on her agenda, yet she gets herself sucked into helping a troubled teenager stay out trouble. But the handsome child psychologist Ethan McClane doesn’t make it any easy for as she tries to figure out if he’s a friend or a foe.

Repressed-DeadlySecrets#1-ElisabethNaughton-July2016

Coming back to Hidden Falls brings Ethan face to face with a past that was incidental in him becoming a psychologist. It also brings him face to face with evil among friends and face to face with the charming and stunning chemistry teacher. Helping Sam understand the mystery behind her nightmares as well as help a teenager doesn’t seem to stem the chemistry between them.

But along with love and romance, comes danger and death, comes secrets and betrayal that puts Sam right into the path of a past that wants to silence her forever. A past that Ethan is intertwined and Sam’s repressed memories once surfaced can put an end to their love.

Gosh how I missed reading Elisabeth Naughton!!! Sam and Ethan were perfectly imperfect, the plot was tight and gritty, and the suspense was stretched to the penultimate pages keeping me rooted to my chair keeping me awake into the wee hours of the morning to finish the book.

A definite more than 5 stars in my opinion and a definite paperback addition to my library.

Book three in the Scarlet Falls Series by Melinda Leigh, brings Mac Barrett from the drug infested and bullet ridden Amazon jungles to his hometown of Scarlet Falls, as his father breathes his last. Even as his family buries the Colonel, the little town of Scarlet Falls is once again thrown into a gruesome murder. And that takes Mac right to Stella Dane, and his heart has never forgotten the detective.

Taking the lead on the murder investigation, stakes are high for Stella as she races against time with her partner McNamara to stop a psychotic killer. As the killer targets reformed drug addicts, he comes too close to home as her friend is kidnapped and Mac gets into the crosshairs of the killer. With time running out and life hanging by mere seconds, it takes all of Stella’s skills and the support of her department to save the people she cares the most.

SecondsToLive-ScarletFalls#3

Mac has been my favorite Barrett sibling with is quite and lethal demeanor. Working for the DEA undercover has given him a hard edge, yet Stella is the only one who can calm him and his heart. Stella had always had a special place for Mac and working together to catch the killer only reinforces the love she has for him. Strong, independent and a good heart is what Stella is made of as she goes through her own demons of guilt and pain.

Two strong individuals, two people with painful pasts and two protectors who would go to any length to keep their families safe, Mac and Stella make one amazing couple.

I loved the way Melinda Leigh incorporated the plot around a mad killer and yet not lose sight of the dynamics of the Barrett family. Regrets, redemptions and secrets are out in the open, as Melinda brings the family together, with care, love and support. She does a brilliant job of giving the story the co-existence of danger and presence of a strong family that had been through loss, pain and betrayal.

“Seconds To Live” can be read as a stand-alone, but I would highly recommend readers to start with “Hour Of Need” (where it all started), to enjoy the following books to the fullest

Kendra Elliot is on the fast lane of being a brilliant writer of thrillers and each one surpasses the last one she had penned. Book 4 of her Callahan and McLane Series, “Targeted” takes the readers on a ride of hatred and revenge as a mask of evil covers the law enforcement.

An all-men vacation of some members of the OSO ends in the gruesome murder of their Captain, Danny Schefte, leaving Mason Callahan and the rest of the team reeling with shock and disbelief of the heinous kill. As more bodies are found, FBI steps in along with Ava McLane and the search and clues lead to Mason being the target. And Ava has her job cut out trying to save the love of her life and deal with personal revelations of a past her mother had kept secret.

Targeted-CallahanMcLane#4-June016

More than the suspense and the ultimate bagging of the perpetrator, what always captivates me is the brilliant plotting of the story by Kendra. Be it professional or personal, emotional or sentimental, dramatic or intriguing, her attention to detail is flawless, narration is gripping and the dialogues and action have the perfect impact on the reader.

“Mason’s heart jumped as Ava stepped out of the her vehicle…her low voice that always set his stomach aflutter. Fluttering in a masculine way.”

I just love the way Kendra has made sure that every book of the series shows progress in Mason’s and Ava’s journey. The talk between Zander and Ava is beautifully penned with care and support and this would remain as one of my most unforgettable moments of a beautiful friendship. Ava and Mason’s confidence in each other and their solidarity are in full bloom as they deal with Ava’s psychotic sister. And Ava’s face to face with a past that she’s totally unaware of is a brilliant left field knockout!

“Targeted” is a perfect combination of romance and love, suspense and thrill, support and friendship that targets your heart with the satisfaction of reading a well-written novel.

Catherine Bybee is one of the most beautiful and entertaining writers I’ve had the pleasure of reading and re-visiting several times. Her new series “The Most Likely To” series stars three childhood friends and their lives, as life takes them on different paths, and yet they all come to a crossroads where they converge and support each other through the touch times. Sometimes, friends are all the family we need, as Bybee says.

The pioneer of her new series, “Doing It Over” brings Melanie Bartlett back home to River Bend, along with her seven year daughter to do just that – do her life over leaving a bad and obsessive relationship behind. Coming home to her childhood friends Jo and Zoe is a safe haven as she regroups and tries to build a new life. Meeting the resident building contractor Wyatt Gibson is an added motivation and support of her new beginnings.

Catherine Bybee has an amazing talent of interlacing romance, suspense and danger that the narration flows as smooth as silk. Melanie and Wyatt have been caricatured to perfection – independent, stubborn, courageous and protective. Hope as the adorable, mature and spunky seven year old reminded me of my younger daughter! Miss. Gina as the kickass owner of Miss. Gina’s Bed-And-Breakfast is a reading riot and will be a standing fixture in this series for sure.

Another charming and captivating read from the effervescent Catherine Bybee!!!
