“The Sound Of Glass” by Karen White is one of the most brilliant books I’ve read in recent history, and I do read, a lot! Deep in mystery, rich in emotions, brimming with secrets, “The Sound Of Glass” will take you on a journey of abuse, courage and the pain of loss as it explores the relationships of four individuals in a kaleidoscope of colors, as they try to understand each other.

Merritt comes to Beaufort, SC when she inherits her dead husband Cal’s ancestral home. And right on her heels, her young stepmother Loralee and her ten-year old stepbrother Owen, she’s never met in her life end up on her doorstep. And she also inherits the Cal’s brother Gibbs and a family steeped in secrets that she’s never heard of.

As these unsuspecting characters converge under a single roof, what we get is an amazing story of insecurities, pain, loss and fear. As Merritt, Loralee and Owen try to bond, the mystery surrounding Cal and his grandmother, gets deeper and deeper. As Merritt gets to shed her inhibitions, Gibbs is right there to support and encourage her to grieve without guilt. As Loralee goes on a path of no return, she leads Merritt on a path of self-realization, acceptance and a life that should be lived like there’s no tomorrow. As Merritt tries to leave the glass house, Owen teaches her the nuances innocence, love of siblings and the bond that makes a family.

“The Sound Of Glass” should be read to understand the characters, the depth of relationships, and the power of fear, forgiveness and acceptance. Words do not do justice to this book and you feel the impact of the story only when read. This is no edge of the seat, adrenaline pumping, steamy story, but true to the value of family, ethics and the consequences of secrets within a family and them impact it has on its members and the ones that follow.

I’ve never read Karen White before, but this is a brilliant start for me. She does a stupendous job of keeping the narration tight to the minutest of detail, interchanging between decades yet keeping the story tight. The progression of relationship between Merritt and Loralee should be read, to enjoy them to the fullest. This is one fictional relationship that will stay with me forever!

Another cute story from Roxanne Snopek’s camp of love stories, “The Millionaire Daddy Project” has the handsome and successful Dane Bergman at a loss when he finds himself at the receiving end of an adorable five-year old girl – his daughter. Playboy days are over and Daddy days leave him in total chaos and stress-filled days and sleepless nights.

TheMillionaireDaddyProject-RoxanneSnopek-May2015

And being the charmer her is, he manipulates his ever efficient, perfect and beautiful assistant Pamela Atwater to help him from a fast death and become a devil in the eyes of his daughter. A month long get away on sandy beaches brings lot of growing pains of raising a child, a child missing her dead mother, a playboy who would do anything to become the father his child deserves, and the spark of attraction that ignites between Dane and Pam just adds more sizzle to this book.

I liked Dane as the ruthless successful businessman, yet has the heart of gold. I loved the way Roxanne took the story to a few surprises. It added charm and mystery to the package. Pam was super adorable as the super efficient secretary, always protecting Dane, humble and kind as she helps run the company, and as the woman who lost her heart to her boss, just adds so much more depth to her character.

And I’m not sure what it is, but the ending was just very sweet and apt and had me feeling all mushy and happy! Must be the way Roxanne narrated it, but I loved it and the entire book gives a good feeling of love and romance.

I’ve decided to retire to Marietta and get a permanent ringside seat to all the excitement that seems to grace this little enchanting town. Bachelor auctions, hot cowboys, unsuspecting love weaving magic, and the essence of romance filling the air is just perfect, as these potpourri of authors create love stories around these wonderful people.

The second book in the Montana Born Brides brings out “His Blushing Bride” Piper Tierney even as Sebastian Bloom wants to fight his feelings for her. On a break from his doctorate program, Bastian comes to Marietta to attend his sister’s wedding and ends up falling head over heals for the shy and blushing Piper.

HisBlushingBride-MontanaBrides2-DaniCollins-May2015

Taking over from her father, Piper is the music teacher in Marietta High. Born with a birthmark on her face and having endured childhood teasing and bullying, Piper maybe a successful and beautiful, but her history with the opposite sex has a lot of learning to be done. And Sebastian charms her pants off and they fall into an affair that is supposed to be temporary or can Bastian convince Piper into becoming the next Marietta bride?

Dani Collins writes some really sweet love stories. I loved the fact that she gave her heroine a flaw that could happen to anyone. I admire the way she made Piper into this strong and independent woman, yet vulnerable and sensitive, wanting to be loved for who she is, a beauty inside out. And this beautiful lady sends Bastian into an emotional roller coaster as he tries to fathom his feeling for Piper and convince her of his love being genuine and permanent.

Another charming romance in the town of Marietta, and it’s always so very wonderful to revisit characters from the previous stories.

Tracy Wolff’s Ethan Frost is one of the most brilliant fictional characters I’ve read and will re-visited, and will re-visit on a regular basis. There is no man more human or attractive than a guy who has everything yet has nothing as his childhood creates his personality, he strives to create his destiny and wants to possess the one and only love he had ever had or wanted.

Exposed-EthanStory-TracyWolf-May2015

I want to let the readers know that you definitely want to read Ethan Frost in sequence – ‘Ruined’, ‘Addicted’ and now ‘Exposed’…and looks like he’s bared himself and laid his entire being to the woman who’s made him become a better person, face his fears and challenge the ones that had ruined her life; His life, his breath and his soul – Chloe Girard.

Looks like Tracy Wolff has finally given Ethan Frost his home. He’s exposed the evil, he’s exposed his feelings and fears, and he’s exposed himself to heartache and separation, yet he’s finally managed to put his trust in the one woman he believed in. Chloe has been through a hell of pain and trauma that she wants to put behind her and move on with Ethan towards a new future. But Ethan can’t seem to let go of the bad that needs to be brought to justice.

A brilliant narration by Tracy Wolff as she takes her readers on an emotional coaster of pain and fear, danger and evil, betrayal and surprise and lots of passion and love, as Chloe and Ethan finally find themselves standing together, with each other.
