Brenda Novak is one brilliant writer/author I have the pleasure of reading. She’s a maestro at weaving heartfelt romances with tasteful flavor and with equal vigor she churns some amazing mysteries that grips her readers from page one to the very last line.

“The Secret Sister”, book one of her Fairham Island series brings Maisey Lazarow back to her hometown of Fairham, SC. Reeling from a bitter divorce, Maisey comes back to build her shattered life back and rebuild her relationship with her troubled brother Keith. Coming back also brings back memories of pain and a mother that she wants to avoid. Coming back also puts her in front of Rafe Romero, her first love.

TheSecretSister-Aug2015-BrendaNovak

Rafe Romero comes back to the island to heal and raise his blind daughter. He’s built his life back, albeit a few scars and pain. Coming face to face with Maisey brings up a whole bucket load of emotions that he’s not ready to face. But with him renovating the cottage and living next door to Maisey only makes so much more difficult to stay away from her.

With Rafe and Maisey thrown together, rekindles feelings long buried and the possibility of love and forgiveness. As they try to deal with their feelings, Brenda surprises us with a twist in the story as old pictures bring back memories of a sister that Maisey vaguely seem to remember.

And now with mystery added into the equation, “The Secret Sister” takes the readers on a roller coaster ride of pain, love and forgiveness.

I can’t wait for Brenda Novak to give Keith his closure on pain and a chance at love.

One final hero remains standing in the town of Sterling waiting for the love of his life to show up. The final book in her Unexpected Heroes Series, Melody Anne gives the charming and kind Camden Whitman his happily ever after, with the woman of his dreams Grace, “Her Forever Hero”

HerForeverHero-UnexpectedHeroes5-MelodyAnne-Feb2016

His adoptive family had given Cam a support structure and a family he deserves. Raised with morals, ethics and humbleness, he would do anything to help the underdog and a few more beyond the call of duty. And when his client is his Grace, he pulls everything to protect her and keep her at his side.

Coming back to Sterling brings back memories that Grace would have liked to forget. But circumstances push Grace right into a major muddle with the IRS with a non-profit she is associated with and Cam ends up being her knight in shining armor.

Yet they have much unfinished business between them. But there are emotions that defy their hearts, pain that needs closure, and questions that need some answers before these two can have their very own happily ever after. With a stubborn and headstrong Grace heading the chase, Cam with tenacity and charm makes sure Grace can never leave his embrace of home forever.

Melody Anne does what she’s super good; write some super nice romances with ultra savvy heroines and alpha heroes. Good for the soul and warmth for the heart!

Don’t remember if I read Terry Spears before, but “Seal Wolf In Too Deep” took me a while to finish it. As much as I love reading paranormal, this Navy SEAL shifter Allan Rappaport and his human partner Debbie Renaud somehow did not set the pages ablaze.

SealWolfInTooDeep-TerrySpear

Few know that paranormal and humans co-exist and Allan makes sure that his secret is safe. Working as a police diver and with a human partner makes things difficult, as a rogue werewolf seems to be targeting his kind, and his feelings for Debbie dig deeper into his heart.

The storyline is good, except I felt the writing was not up to par as it did not draw me into the story. The scenes, the danger and the passion really did not touch keep me enthralled and the both the characters lacked chemistry.

Savannah Stuart/Katie Reus is another brilliant writer I follow, quenching my thirst for he paranormal and the suspense. Miami Scorchers Series is just another one of her fabulous writings. Who can resist the alpha shifters and their intended mates?

WorthTheRisk-MiamiScorchers2-KatieReus-Jul2015

“Worth The Risk”, book two in her Miami Scorcher Series brings Marisol Cabrera into the protective wings of the undercover DEA Stephen Lazos and his powerful Lazos pack. Marisol has a score to settle with an evil arms dealer who completely erased her entire pack. Stephen has been undercover to bring this very guy down, and with Marisol thrown into the middle of this war and knowing that she’s his mate, only adds to his need to protect Marisol and keep his identity a secret if he wants to stay alive and make a life with Marisol.

It’s always a pleasure to read Katie Rues aka Savannah Stuart. She is so good at writing short stories and come away with a fulfilling read. Nothing short on passion, danger and the protective instincts of family to care of their own, “Worth The Risk” is another sizzling read.

I have to repeat this in my review – “Call me biased, but in my opinion Jennifer Ryan writes one of the most romantic suspense stories that I’ve ever read. “The Hunted Series” is always going to be my chicken soup for the soul, having lost count of the number of times I’ve read that series.”

What fascinates me about Jennifer Ryan is her immense ability to create a heroine so different from each other in every one of stories. With courage, loyalty and strength, being the common foundation, every one of her heroines has a story so filled with pain, betrayal and hurt that reading each one of them makes us question the evil that exists in this world yet gives us hope that there is good to counter this evil attack and faith that honor exists.

StoneColdCowboy-MontanaMen4-JenniferRyan-Feb2016

The opening scene of her latest story of her Montana man, “Stone Cold Cowboy” is just an insight into the evil that exists in our world today with Sadie Higgins being hung upside down and a breath away from a frozen death. And with equal valor we have a person with honor, integrity and love in the ever-protective Rory Kendrick to save Sadie and breath life back into her, because a life without Sadie is not acceptable for Rory!

It is so hard to let go of things in our life; to let go of hope that a brother will find his way back to humanity, to let go of a father on the brink of death, to let go of relationships that bind us with love and give us pain at the same time and to let go of blood and be selfish for a change. And the bond between Sadie and her father is so poignant and emotional that it grips you with grief and tears…and trust me when I say I’ve shed more than a few tears as I was reading this book!

Sadie Higgins will make you cry, will make you laugh, will make you feel her every breath of pain she draws, and will make you root for her as she kicks ass with Rory supporting her with the utmost patience and love. Rory Kendrick and his brothers give hope that there are good men in this world who would protect and care for their own as well as never turn their back on evil.

For the uninitiated, the Montana Men Series takes us to the Bowden brothers, Gabe, Blake and Dane, brothers of Caleb (married to Summer Turner) from The Hunted Series…and flows to the neighboring Kendrick brothers -Rory, Colt and Ford. I love when the stories have cross over characters from various books.
