I adore Lisa Marie Rice’s Midnight Series – every one of those sizzlers and I have revisited them innumerable times, that I’ve stopped counting. And now with her latest re-release of “A Fine Specimen”, I get to feel the sizzle and the simmer between the tough lieutenant Alex Cruz and the scholarly Caitlin Summers.

What got to me is Lisa’s style of narration – crisp, sharp and full of wit that tickles our funny bones. If studying dominance in law enforcement is Caitlin’s dissertation, Alex is the epitome of dominance and yet Caitlin is his downfall. I loved Alex’ perspective, his thoughts, his fears and his brilliant and humorous effort to keep Caitlin in his apartment.

With funny and supportive cop central behind, “A Fine Specimen’ is pure charming romance that would bring a chuckle and gives a satisfaction of reading a good love story. Alex and Caitlin are just adorable, and I just can’t get over Alex and his antics. A definite spunk-worthy read!

I’ve read all of Dale Mayer’s psychic series and they are one of my favorites especially the first seven. And Stefan’s story is just the best of the lot. But they can be read as stand-alones.

“Now You See Her” brings Tia into the crosshairs of a psychotic killer experimenting on people with special powers wanting to gain control and power. Being a puppet in this special program for ten years, Tia finally escapes the imprisonment, yet she couldn’t get away from the evil personified. Raw and innocent, not having the strength to control her special powers, she ends up in Stefan’s care and Dean’s protection.

A cop and moonlighting as a security guard at the hospital, Dean has seen a lot in his service, yet Tia leaves him speechless with her powers and has him mesmerized with her personality. Giving her protection in his home only brings these two together and Dean’s calmness and energy seems to give Tia the strength and protection to keep herself safe.

Interesting and mesmerizing, Dale Mayer takes us on another thrilling journey as Tia and Dean try to stay alive to make a future together. And it’s always a pleasure to have some of the earlier characters make an appearance.

This is one author who doesn’t need an introduction, writes some amazing stories with some awesome characters, and there’s always some wicked passion that is out of this world!!!!

And book one “Twisted Up” in her new two books series Taking Chances, is just as romantic, wickedly sexy and full of witty dialogues that gets our heats in a twist with warmth and passion as Erin Nicholas takes us on a ride to Chance, Nebraska, the little town infamous for its tornados year after year!

TwistedUp-TakingChance#1-ErinNicholas-Aug2016

As the Fire Chief and Head of Management of Emergency Management, Avery Sparks is a pro at handling disasters. But Jake Mitchell is one resident of Chance that she cannot seem to handle. Jake Mitchell had places to go and disasters to recover and as a nationally recognizable disaster recovery specialist, he’s supposed to be heading to DC.

But a tornado called Avery sparks old passion and as they both fire up the barn, a real tornado rips through Chance bringing Avery and Jake to work closely with each other. They are more than capable of handling emergencies together, but will they be able to handle the disaster that is their hearts and overcome the fears and uncertainties is altogether another storm.

This is why I love Erin Nicholas!!! She pays detailed attention in penning a story that makes you go through a whole gauntlet of emotions, be it Avery’s past and the impact on her present, the equation between Jake’s parents and Avery, or the chemistry and relationship between Avery and Jake – every single emotion is written to perfection for me. And unless her books are read, the full impact of her humor, passion, romance or her characters can never be understood or enjoyed to the fullest.

I’ve been reading a lot of new series by some of my favorite writers and here’s one from Marina Adair’s basket of romance. Destiny Bay Series starts off with it’s first, “Last Kiss Of Summer” as it brings Kennedy Sinclair to its charm and warmth, far away from home, to start fresh as the owner for a bakery called Sweetie Pies, and lay some roots to call a home.

And the resident Mr. Hotness, Luke Callahan wants to take his cider business and Penalty Box to the next level with his partner, and he needs Kennedy’s apples that she ends up owning along with the Pie shop. And the fact that it was sold to Kennedy by his mother and aunt without his knowledge doesn’t sit well with him. Achieving his dream has just become a bit more deliciously complicated with Kennedy in the equation.

Amidst all the activity of Pie competitions, apple picking, and residents trying to decide whether Kennedy can become Destiny Bay’s new resident, Luke and Kennedy succumb to the attraction that sparked between them and status of his cider business may change the love equation between these two.

Another great start to the series, “Last Kiss Of Summer” makes you chuckle, ties up your heart in strings, makes you fall in love with the wonderful residents and their quirkiness, and gives you a feeling of belonging to a family. Marina Adair did a super fine job penning Luke and Kennedy with their human fears and insecurities as they figure out if they can have their happy ending.

I love Delores Fossen and her simmering lawmen guarding under the big Texas sky. From one series to another she creates romance filled with danger and suspense, captivating and spell binding stories of love, support and families.

The Appaloosa Pass Ranch Series continues to captivate, as the law enforcement seems to find love amidst the numerous secrets and the elusive Midnight Strangler that seems to bring all these characters together.

SixGunShowdown-AppaloosaPassRanch-DeloresFossen-July2016

Deputy Sheriff Jax Crockett saw his ex-wife Paige buried a year ago, yet the message on his answering machine defies all odds. Faking her own death was the only way Paige knew to keep her son and the love of her life alive. Yet now, her position has been compromised and as she runs back to Appaloosa Ranch with a killer on her heels, only brings more danger to her family.

Utter shock and anger is what keeps Jax on guard even has his desire for Paige resurfaces. A desire and love that never died and now he will move heaven and earth to keep his wife and son safe from the killer, in the “Six Gun Showdown”.

This series has been very interesting and Delores Fossen sure pays attention in keeping all the characters in line and the plot steady and interesting. With secrets intertwining her characters, each story is narration with enough suspense, danger and romance to keep it interesting.
