Any book by Lisa Marie Rice is a reading pleasure and it’s been a long while since I get to read her again. Although I keep visiting her Midnight series multiple times – chicken soup for the soul!

Eve Banner just doesn’t know it,  but she is definitely “Taken” by Marcus Rey. It’s just a small matter of Marcus letting Eve become aware of this fact, who happens to own his heart and soul. And of course considering that Marcus came from nothing and now is a billionaire running all things legitimate, he’s sure to have made some enemies and Eve gets into the crosshairs of this very evil instigated by her father.

I really liked the characters Eve and Marcus, but what I missed was the development of their relationship. There is  charisma, but lacked the fire that I always find between the pages of Lisa Marie’s books. I missed the chemistry of building a relationship between Eve and Marcus. The ending was a welcome twist, but that begged the question as to why the story not happen in the shadows incognito. I would have loved to see their relationship growing, getting to know each other, fall in love, get in each other’s lives, and the whole nine yards.

It’s worth a read, but I’m not “Taken” as I am with the Midnight series.

This Midnight Series continues the saga of its incredible brave soldiers, fighting for justice, protecting the innocent from incomprehensible evil and as part of this elite group, Nick Mancino will do whatever it takes to protect and serve, whether it is his country or the love of his life in Lisa Marie Rice’s latest, “Midnight Fever.”

The beautiful and brilliant scientist Kay Hudson has a thing for Nick Mancino, but a deadly biological weapon seems to have gotten her attention, putting the top officials in imminent danger not to mention the innocents. But Nick is not one to be sidelined and with his brothers in arms beside him, they will eliminate the threat at any cost.

I love these Midnight thrills with their brilliant storylines, and not to mention the ultra brilliant heroines, and their kickass partners. Lisa Marie Rice is a pro at these and I never miss reading any of her books.

Short but captivating, Lisa Marie Rice gives her readers an adrenaline ride of danger and passion, love and support, giving importance to relationships and friends. The Midnight series may connect the events and characters in each story, but each of them can be read a standalone.

I adore Lisa Marie Rice’s Midnight Series – every one of those sizzlers and I have revisited them innumerable times, that I’ve stopped counting. And now with her latest re-release of “A Fine Specimen”, I get to feel the sizzle and the simmer between the tough lieutenant Alex Cruz and the scholarly Caitlin Summers.

What got to me is Lisa’s style of narration – crisp, sharp and full of wit that tickles our funny bones. If studying dominance in law enforcement is Caitlin’s dissertation, Alex is the epitome of dominance and yet Caitlin is his downfall. I loved Alex’ perspective, his thoughts, his fears and his brilliant and humorous effort to keep Caitlin in his apartment.

With funny and supportive cop central behind, “A Fine Specimen’ is pure charming romance that would bring a chuckle and gives a satisfaction of reading a good love story. Alex and Caitlin are just adorable, and I just can’t get over Alex and his antics. A definite spunk-worthy read!

And if giving herself to a hot lumberjack then so be it. As an undercover detective Bud Morrison is trained to fight the hidden dangers and protecting is his in his every breath. Claire brings out his full protective instincts and he sure as hell not going to let her fall on his watch.

Short but captivating, Lisa Marie Rice gives her readers an adrenaline ride of danger and passion, love and support, giving importance to relationships and friends. The Midnight series may connect the events and characters in each story, but each of them can be read a standalone.

Lisa Marie Rice’s “Midnight Series” continue to thrill, captivate, and charm readers. The entire team of SEALS is now hitched and it’s wonderful seeing them being a part of the continuing books.
