The Red Stone Security Series by Katie Reus seems to be expanding by leaps and bounds as we get to meet the extended members and their happily ever after. And I’m sure I had mentioned innumerable times that this series is one of my top favorites to-go-to-when-I-need-a-lift-kind of books, and I keep revisiting this series every time my heart craves some danger and romance all rolled into one.

Book 14 of the series, “Dangerous Protector” opens with an explosion bringing Aaron Fitzpatrick closer to Tegan O’Kelly as her protector. Having left a past best forgotten, Tegan finally places roots in Miami, but a past buried deep underground seems to have woken from the dead…literally! Someone wants Tegan dead, and Aaron is making sure that it never happens on his watch.

With circumstances keeping these two under one roof, it’s only a matter of time before they succumb to their attraction and let the desire blaze between the sheets. Two strong, independent and good individuals come together to face a deadly threat and come out strong as one.

Another captivating and short story revolving around Red Stone Security, “Dangerous Protector” is a quick and fast read, satisfying and fulfilling a readers thirst for danger, romance, lust and happy endings.

The Ultimate Series by Lori Foster is a brilliant compilation of a group of friends, protecting their neighborhood, engaging young kids to keep them out of trouble, creating a haven for troubled teenagers, and throwing muscle in the ring when called upon. And in between all this, they have their own personal demons to face and fight for the love of their lives.

FightingDirty-UltimateSeries4-LoriFoster

Book four in the series, “Fighting Dirty”, finally gives Armie Jacobson his story of pain, redemption and love. As a badass MMA fighter and being the best, he’s got girls falling for him, but his heart beats only for his Rissy aka Merissa Colter. And of course she’s got be his best friend’s sister.

Merissa Colter is classy, independent, tough and a nurturer by nature. She loves her group of friends and she loves Armie to death. Of course convincing Armie of that fact is altogether another fight that she needs to muscle through. Armie and Rissy make an engaging couple what with their witty banter and chemistry flaming the sheets.

I’ve always loved the way Lori Foster makes sure all bases are covered in her romances, be it supporting characters, closing loops and paying attention to details. The whole concept of young MMA fighters taking care of their community is rich in education as well as giving the readers a captivating romance to warm the heart.

A new author, a new book and a new series! There’s nothing more satisfying than reading someone new and liking them instantly. Katie Ruggle is a new author on the block and she has done exceptionally well with her tryst with writing.

HoldYourBreath-RockyMountainSearch#2-KatieRuggle

“Hold Your Breath” takes you on a chilling ride of murder, intrigue and romance as Louise and Callum try to solve a murder that opens up on a routine diving class. As the captain of the ice dive team for the Search and Rescue, he’s a pro at what he does, but when the vivacious and newbie on the team is in his vicinity he loses all his bearings. And when Lou’s life is threatened, all his protective instincts kick in high gear.

Lou escapes to the dangerous Rockies to get away from her controlling family and an ex-boyfriend. Rescuing people gives her a purpose in life and being in the brotherhood of her team gives her a protective and caring family that she’s never got. And Callum takes special place in her heart as they work together to solve a murder. And even the frozen Rockies can’t seem to freeze the blaze of passion that erupts between them.

A very good start to a thrilling series and Katie manages to keep the interest and suspense going until the end. The chemistry between Callum and Lou is sublime and the banter between them keeps the sizzle intact. Ruggle did a good job of creating charismatic characters and the narration is tight and detailed.

A definite good read for me. Do not miss the prequel novella of the series “On His Watch”, a thrilling start to her new series!

Brenda Novak’s “Whiskey Creek Series” has been and is one of the most coveted reads, full of small town charm. Residents with warmth and support fill Whiskey Creek. There are stories of romance and love to be told, regrets and redemptions to be faced and support and friendships to be fulfilled.

DiscoveringYou-WhiskeyCreek#10

The Amos brothers have had it rough with a father coming out of prison and taking residence with them. Yet they have managed to beat odds to make a positive life for themselves. And they have found love to keep them in line and give them a purpose to life.

“Discovering You” is a revelation of attraction between Rod Amos and India Sommers. They share a similar past of wild life and insecurities that seem to forge a bond between them. India Sommers moves to Whiskey Creek to make a fresh start for herself and her daughter. Rod Amos is working hard to leave behind a tragic past and move past the judging eyes of the town.

Two lost souls come together to test the waters of attraction, two people want to protect each other from their painful pasts, and two wonderful people will do anything to make sure no one gets hurt.

“Discovering You” is another wonderful story of love and caring, family and loyalty, support and solidarity. And Brenda Novak gives India and Rod another chance at love and redemption as they overcome the dangers of the past and put behind the guilt to look forward to a future together.

Laura Griffin is one of my super favorite suspense writers that have bewitched me with her amazing Glass Sister series and the Tracers Series.

ShadowFall-TracersSeries#9-LauraGriffin

It’s hard writing a review for a thriller without giving away spoilers. It’s always a pleasure to revisit her amazing characters of this series as they keep making appearances in the various stories. And as the Delphi Center and the Wolfe Security co-exit and crossover, it only adds an element of suspense and danger to this series, making it even more irresistible to avoid and just get caught up in the danger and evil surrounding these characters.

Book nine of the series, “Shadow Fall”, Laura Griffin brings Special Agent Tara Rushing and ex-marine security expert Liam Wolfe together as they investigate a murder. With Liam right in the middle of the investigation, Tara has her work cut out for her – to prove his innocence and also guard her heart from breaking.

Another chilling and twisted story of evil and death, love and danger as Liam and Tara race against time to stay alive and bring justice to the fallen. And reviews do no justice to Laura Griffin’s thrillers!
