As a reader (and reviewer), a good book for me is the one that pulls at my heartstrings, makes me shed a few tears, makes my heart heavy with the pain of the protagonists, pulls my lips into smiles and laughter at their wit and gives me goose bumps as I become a part of their passionate love story to a future. And as reader it is very rare for me to get captivated by a new author on my list, yet Laura Trentham does the very same with her “Slow And Steady Rush” (Falcon Football Series).

Darcy Wilde takes a sabbatical as a librarian, and comes home to Falcon to take care of her injured grandmother Ada. Independent and confident, witty and sassy, lovable and warm, coming back to Falcon brings back memories of a past that she desperately wants to forget; a past that puts her wayward mother out of her site and the turmoil that motivated her to become the successful woman of the present…. and right into the path of the new coach Robbie Dalton.

Making Falcon as a safe haven was important to Coach Dalton as making sure the young students of his football team stay out of trouble. Bounced around in foster care and making a life out of an abused childhood is something that puts Robbie on the edge and skeptical of forming relationships. Being an ex-ranger has channeled his anger into protecting his country, but being an orphan and the thirst for being loved by someone seems to be unquenchable.

But Darcy Wilde puts wild thoughts into his brain, and crack opens that heart he’s been guarding with his life. And what starts off as a fling, Darcy ends up losing her heart to the bruised Coach. Both Darcy and Robbie have plenty of pain and hurt to get past before they can make a future.

Laura Trentham, slowly but very steadily pulls her readers into this brilliant story of family and love, passion and lust, support and friendship. She’s done a fine job of making Darcy and Robbie as two individuals so right for each other. Supporting cast is amazing and she leaves no stone unturned to makes us shed a tear or two for the unconditional love that runs in the family and for the family and childhood lost.

A definite five star read for me and am looking forward to Logan finding his own happily ever after.

I’m really enjoying these short love stories of the “Bachelor Auction Series”, brought to readers by Tule Publishing and opening readers to a potpourri of enchanting authors. Centered around Marietta, Montana, the Bachelors Auction Series is a compilation of sexy billionaires and their happily-ever-after stories, warm and brimming with love and family support.

BoundToTheBachelor-SarahMayberry-Mar2015

“Bound To The Bachelor” starts off the series as the citizens of Marietta are having a bachelor auction to raise funds for the young Josh, injured in an accident; an auction that has sexy and elusive billionaires up for grabs. Lily Taylor, organizing the auction for her best friend and son, manipulates Beau Bennett, the successful business owner into being part of the auction.

Lily and Beau try to stay away from each other, ignoring the sparks that flare between them, every time they are in close proximity. Lily’s past as a stripper to survive when she is a teenager doesn’t sit well with some of the residents, but leaving that life behind and working in Marietta gives her some confidence and she is content with her life now.

Having feelings for his sister’s best friend is not on Beau’s agenda, yet he agrees to be part of the auction. And like a true gentleman, when Lily wins him in the auction, he goes out of his way to give her the best date of her life. And that date leads to them giving into feelings for each other and test the boundaries of their attraction and lust.

When a dangerous person from Lily’s past rears his ugly head, Beau goes all the way out to protect his love and make sure she stays right beside him…. forever.

“Bound To The Bachelor” is a short and fun read, but there is no dearth of passion and love, pain and hurt, insecurities and uncertainties that make this a really good read. Spunky and witty, Lily keeps Beau on his toes and readers loving her for her warmth and friendship as well. All alpha and arrogant, Beau gives Lily sleepless nights of dreams for a future she may never have, and leaves us readers wanting a person like Beau in our life, protective, charming and caring.

“Bound To The Bachelor” is a fun and warm story from Sarah Mayberry and hoping to read her more of her. She’s done a find job of creating this charming and enticing love story and keeps you happy. A definite five starry read for me!

I don’t think I’ve read this many new authors as I am getting to now, since I started reading from the time I can remember. The last few months have been a revelation of some amazing authors and writers, some recommended and some through my own discovery. For a voracious reader like me, it’s like beyond heaven and a potent drug!!! And I add Lisa N. Paul to that list of new recommendations.

Having said that, let’s talk Lisa N. Paul and her upcoming book “Blocked”, Decker and April. Left alone and pregnant by her husband for another woman, April Maddox has been a single parent to her precious four-year old Elijah. With the pain of heartbreak and raising her son leaves April any inclination of dating. But a Christmas gift to a gym membership puts her in the path of Decker and her world changes forever.

Blocked-LisaNpaul-Mar2015

Widowed and a father to six-year old daughter Charlie, Decker runs a successful construction company with his brother and is smitten by April when he sees her in the gym. A chance situation starts the dialogue between them, and Decker has no major hang-ups with his past that prevents him from pursuing April.

The sassy, witty and charming lady who teaches middle school meets her match in the hardworking, kind and lovable Decker. The story as a whole is very heartwarming and captivating as two wonderful people try to get over past pain and make a new life with a readymade family. Insecurities and doubt mar the journey and the path to second love and second chances is no bed of roses.

I really liked April and Decker and the entourage of secondary characters, with their own quirks and advice. Lisa did a great job with Decker and April as parents and lovers and as two people, relatable to perfectly imperfectly people we would come across in our daily life. Meddling mothers and supporting siblings and friends make this an enjoyable story.

As much as the story is charming, I definitely would have liked some of he dialogue to be more refined, considering the story revolves around responsible parents. I’m no prude, and neither do I refrain from using expletives, but for this particular story, nature and characters, I personally felt the expletives should have been put to a smooth use on the tongue rather than crude. Somehow it felt they were used more than necessary, and seemed forced to me at times, taking away the magic of the moment. The intensity of feelings, whether lust, anger, happy or just plain conversation between two individuals could have easily been portrayed in a refined way.

A good recommendation from a dear friend of mine, “Blocked” definitely is a must read as Lisa does a fine job of narrating a story with emotions and love that would pull at our heartstrings, and Lisa N. Paul will sure be on my repeat list.

The Bachelors Auction Series is a compilation of sexy billionaires and their happily-ever-after, written by a potpourri of amazing writers, all new reads for me……heavenly!!!!!

“The Bachelor’s Baby”, book three of the series written by Dani Collins, brings Linc Brady to the town of Marietta, wanting to set roots in this tiny community. Tired of the oilrigs, the travels and the high life of the cities, he wants to settle down and live a quiet life of calm and peace.

And Meg Cannon, with her sassy and witty attitude, shatters that calm and peace. Helping raise funds to help her friend and her injured son, she manipulates Linc into being one of the bachelors to be auctioned off.

Sparks flare and the boundaries of lust are crossed for one sizzling night of passion. And that one night changes their lives forever.

“The Bachelor’s Baby” is a sweet and fun story as Linc and Meg try to get to know each other, with the inevitable consequence of that one night of passion. Linc has some past hang ups to overcome, and Meg has to let go of the insecurities of being adopted and wanting to be needy and loved all the time. Linc and Meg muddle through emotions and uncertainties as they fall in love trying to build a future.

Charming and endearing, Dani Collins keeps her readers entertained and captivated with “The Bachelor’s Baby.”

Shiloh Walker creates some brilliantly dark and obsessive romantic thrillers that set her readers on the edge with suspense and danger. Secrets & Shadows Series is a saga of people embroiled in an evil that spans generations in the tiny town of Madison; a town that is steeped in secrets and evil hiding in plain sight.

The third book in the series of Secrets and Shadows may very well put to rest the evil and the legacy of abuse that has been a part of Madison for generations. “Darker Than Desire” is a magnetic story of David Sutter (aka Caine Yoder), a man so tormented by an abusive past, that he can’t let the light of love into his heart. Dangerous and hard, David Sutter fears that the legacy of his past is flowing in his veins to accept or embrace the support and love that Sybil Chalmers has been offering for the past ten years.

DarkerThanDesire-SecretsShadows3-ShilohWalker-Mar2015

Raising her nephew and keeping him away from her drug addict sister, Sybil Chalmers is sassy, courageous and one kick-ass lady who can brave any hardship that gets thrown in her face. Loving David for the past ten years, and giving her heart away to him, sure puts her in the way of heartbreak, and David’s past leads her right into the crosshairs of an obsessive killer hell bent on claiming David.

As the evil closes in on him and the residents of Madison, it is left to David to make a decision whether to give up his relationship with Sybil for his past or be strong enough to stay with Sybil and once and for all, put an end to the legacy and evil that’s been haunting Madison and harming the people he’s come to care about.

“Darker Than Desire” is by far the most intense and emotional book of the series, in my opinion. Shiloh Walker did a magnificent job of creating David Sutter, with so much depth and torment that hurts you to the core. His pain is your pain, and his anguish is your anguish. And Sybil is one strong and tenacious lady who fights for her love in the face of danger. Being the voice of reason, her character is created to perfection and the perfect balance to David’s dynamics.

Dark, Intense, Dangerous, Spellbinding and Passionate!!!
