Book 6 of her infamous “She Can Series” starts off with an explosion in Argentina and brings us to the US along with Christopher and his daughter Lucia. As an assassin and son-in-law of a powerful arms dealer, circumstances bring Cristan to the US to make a safe haven for his daughter and give her a normal life.

As we all know, the past always catches up with the present if there’s no closure and secrets tend to cause rifts between loved ones, Putting roots in Westbury, Pennsylvania may be the best for his daughter, but his past catches all his loved ones and friends in the crossfire of a lady bent on revenge. And Cristan Rojas would do anything to protect his family and the woman he has come to love in his present life.

SheCanKill-SheCanSeries#6-Dec2015

Sarah is trying to make a new life with her two young toddlers, after divorcing her abusive husband. Feelings for Cristan give her hope for a better future, and her love for his daughter only strengthens her faith that she may have a happy ending. But a demented ex-husband can’t seem to let go of her, and Cristan’s past may actually put Sarah in the path of danger and death.

“She Can Kill” has so much happening with enough suspense to last until the last page. I loved the ending of this story – there may be bad people in the world, but sometimes they do have a streak of humanity in them. Circumstances and family background may give them their identity, but what they choose to become as an adult is the choice they make.

Melinda Leigh has become one of the top suspense writers and has become on of my favorites to read. I love her attention to details as well as how well she connects the past and the present, bring together the chemistry of family and friends with unwritten support and help. Emotions in place, danger every minute, love trying to survive, Melinda blends a spectrum of death to love in a brilliant narration of “She Can Kill.”

Savannah Stuart is one of the best writers of short novellas. She keeps the screenplay tight, the suspense close, danger on the edge and passion scorching as the fire. No matter how short her stories are she leaves not much room for missing key elements.

DangerousDeception-KatieReus-Nov2015

“Dangerous Deception” is just that. – a short story of evil and betrayal, passion and love. A fight to save herself from death and a mad killer, Sage Miller leaves a traumatic past and a one night of pure love and passion to make a new beginning. But then the past rears its ugly head along with her one nightstand, Trent Takoda.

Trent had been searching for Sage since the night they heated the sheets and the flames refuse to be doused even a bit. Finding Sage so close to home only increase his love for her and this ex-Navy SEAL is not letting a mad stalker take her away.

And as always her characters make an impact with their courage, integrity and chemistry that just makes us want more of them.

Another scorching, adrenaline pumping narration from Savannah Stuart, that is worth every penny!

The little town of Sweetwater Springs has seen its share of evil and death. Amidst the shadows, the series also saw the sage of the McKinnon family and Calder family coming together but on opposite ends of a murder that their mother is being put on trial. Relationships have gained, trust has been birthed and the murderer revealed along with secrets that have been buried for long.

This series ends with FBI Agent Seth Calder caught in the middle of the drama along with his family adversary, the annoying Shelby Braddock, the very daughter of the man murdered that put his mother on trial.

ALawman'sJustice-SweetWaterFinal-Aug2015

Shelby wants to get to the bottom of the murder that rocked her childhood and her nosing around puts her life in danger. Seth is hell bent on keeping Shelby alive for his own peace of mind and not to mention that he’s fallen for her hard. With bullets flying and secrets coming into light, both Seth and Calder have a battle on their hands to save themselves and that of their family members.

Sizzling with romance and pumping with danger, “A Lawman’s Justice” takes us to the conclusion of the series. Delores Fossen keeps the suspense going until the very end, keeping us enthralled and captivated. It is wonderful to re-visit the siblings as they all rally together to keep their family safe. With trust questioned, danger at every turn, and evil manipulating until the very end, the story keeps adrenaline going and heart beating fast.

Will miss this series for sure.

The Red Stone Security Series by Katie Reus is one of favorites to-go-to-when-I-need-a-lift kind of books, utterly captivating, intense and full of passion and danger.

SwornToProtect-RedStone-July2015

“Sworn To Protect” takes us on a fast and furious ride of danger, love and passion as Athena ends up as an employee with Red Stone Security where Quinn is already working. Past dates and a break in their relationship a few months ago does not deter their attraction for each other and Quinn wants to be Athena’s first and last love…forever.

But an ex-cop from Quinn’s past life is on a road of revenge and Athena ends up been his target. With danger and death stalking them, love and passion riding their hearts and with the team of Red Stone Security and Serafina on protective mode, Katie Reus gives us another super charming, short and ultra delectable story.

Short as it is, Katie shows her writing prowess in bringing a good depth of character to Quinn and Athena. It is always wonderful to visit the many agents and alpha males that comprise Red Stone Security and Serafina.

A wonderful series that I’ve revisited countless times and will do so countless times!

All it takes is “Minutes To Kill”, minutes for a situation to become deadly, minutes to become a witness from an innocent bystander and just minutes to become a target to be killed.

The second book in the Scarlet Falls Series by Melinda Leigh brings corporate attorney Hannah Barrett back home to Scarlet Falls with a killer right behind her heels. What was supposed to be a few days of vacation for Hannah turn into a nightmare with two killer brothers hell bent on seeing her dead for trying to help a teenager from being forced into sex trade.

MinutesToKill-ScarletFalls2

A cry for help from the very same girl she wasn’t able to help, brings her face to face with Detective Brody McNamara, her attraction, her apprehension and her lust. Having helped her family when her brother and sister-in-law were murdered, Brody has become a trusted member of the Barrett family. And seeing Hannah only brings out the spark, the respect and love he has for her and with killers on the spree in Scarlet Falls, he would do anything to keep Hannah and her family safe and protected.

I love the simplicity of the story, as a small incident becomes a threat to an innocent civilian. It could happen to anyone, and the repercussions of the incident bring out the strong dimensions of family support. It becomes a foundation to face some insecurity, overcome a few fears, and in the process become a stronger individual.

Melinda Leigh continues the saga of the Barrett Family in Scarlet Falls, as they try to come back as one unit to deal with the aftermath of the murder of their sibling and an ailing father with dementia. She does a brilliant job of giving the story the co-existence of danger and presence of family bond. The romance between Brody and Hannah is sublime and is a perfect pen as is the characterization of Brody and Hannah. Two strong individuals, independent yet dependent on each other, with strong belief of justice and family, Brody and Hannah will win the hearts of the readers.

“Minutes To Kill” can be read as a stand-alone, but I would highly recommend readers to start with “Hour Of Need” (where it all started), to enjoy the following books to the fullest
