Book 6 of her infamous “She Can Series” starts off with an explosion in Argentina and brings us to the US along with Christopher and his daughter Lucia. As an assassin and son-in-law of a powerful arms dealer, circumstances bring Cristan to the US to make a safe haven for his daughter and give her a normal life.

As we all know, the past always catches up with the present if there’s no closure and secrets tend to cause rifts between loved ones, Putting roots in Westbury, Pennsylvania may be the best for his daughter, but his past catches all his loved ones and friends in the crossfire of a lady bent on revenge. And Cristan Rojas would do anything to protect his family and the woman he has come to love in his present life.

SheCanKill-SheCanSeries#6-Dec2015

Sarah is trying to make a new life with her two young toddlers, after divorcing her abusive husband. Feelings for Cristan give her hope for a better future, and her love for his daughter only strengthens her faith that she may have a happy ending. But a demented ex-husband can’t seem to let go of her, and Cristan’s past may actually put Sarah in the path of danger and death.

“She Can Kill” has so much happening with enough suspense to last until the last page. I loved the ending of this story – there may be bad people in the world, but sometimes they do have a streak of humanity in them. Circumstances and family background may give them their identity, but what they choose to become as an adult is the choice they make.

Melinda Leigh has become one of the top suspense writers and has become on of my favorites to read. I love her attention to details as well as how well she connects the past and the present, bring together the chemistry of family and friends with unwritten support and help. Emotions in place, danger every minute, love trying to survive, Melinda blends a spectrum of death to love in a brilliant narration of “She Can Kill.”

Christmas in Solitude, Oregon wakes up to the death of a young woman, dragging Sheriff Zane Duncan and his girlfriend/detective Stevie Taylor out into the cold winter of evil and secrets.

DeadInHerTracks-RogueWinterNovella2

Connecting from the death in the first Rogue Winter Novella, “Tracks Of Her Tears”, Zane and Stevie are thrown right into the path of a serial killer, who’s practicing his skill of killing until her gets to his ultimate goal Stevie. People are not what they seem to be and things are not what they are led to be believed. With drugs making its rounds in Solitude, Zane and Stevie have to put their best foot forward to keep Solitude safe.

Co-written by the author duo Kendra Elliot and Melinda Leigh, the Rogue Winter novellas are short and quick reads that keep the readers captivated and interested. I love the little details of humor and everyday life that Kendra injects into the gripping tale as we revisit Zane and Stevie. It’s nice to reconnect with some lovable characters as they try to live a normal life amidst evil and danger.

For the uninitiated or new readers, this series would be a great start to get to know two wonderful authors/writers. And you would be tempted to read the Rogue River Series where all the suspense, evil, death and romance started.

Solitude, Oregon has been in solitude too long, and so why not just stir up some evil, betrayal and death. The Rogue Winter Novellas start off with Melinda Leigh taking us back to Solitude and the people fighting for justice and protecting the innocent.

We have left Solitude as Seth and Carly finally accept that they love each other too much to put an end to their marriage. As they work out the kinks in this second lease of their relationship, the death of Carly’s brother’s girlfriend tests their fragile bond. Seth is determined to bring justice to the dead and Carly gives her everything to keep the orphaned baby safe and secure.

Co-written by the author duo Melinda Leigh and Kendra Elliot, the Rogue Winter novellas get off to deathly winter start. It’s always wonderful to re-visit characters from the previous stories to see their continuation after HEAs. And it’s absolutely fabulous to read romantic suspense written by Melinda.

Short and quick, captivating and arresting, “Tracks Of Her Tears” is a fast read of suspense and romance, love and relationships, support and solidarity.

For the uninitiated or new readers, this series would be a great start to get to know two wonderful authors/writers.

The little town of Sweetwater Springs has seen its share of evil and death. Amidst the shadows, the series also saw the sage of the McKinnon family and Calder family coming together but on opposite ends of a murder that their mother is being put on trial. Relationships have gained, trust has been birthed and the murderer revealed along with secrets that have been buried for long.

This series ends with FBI Agent Seth Calder caught in the middle of the drama along with his family adversary, the annoying Shelby Braddock, the very daughter of the man murdered that put his mother on trial.

ALawman'sJustice-SweetWaterFinal-Aug2015

Shelby wants to get to the bottom of the murder that rocked her childhood and her nosing around puts her life in danger. Seth is hell bent on keeping Shelby alive for his own peace of mind and not to mention that he’s fallen for her hard. With bullets flying and secrets coming into light, both Seth and Calder have a battle on their hands to save themselves and that of their family members.

Sizzling with romance and pumping with danger, “A Lawman’s Justice” takes us to the conclusion of the series. Delores Fossen keeps the suspense going until the very end, keeping us enthralled and captivated. It is wonderful to re-visit the siblings as they all rally together to keep their family safe. With trust questioned, danger at every turn, and evil manipulating until the very end, the story keeps adrenaline going and heart beating fast.

Will miss this series for sure.

‘Chance Encounter’ can be deadly enough to break a soul. ‘Chance Encounter’ can be a balm in the night of deadly shadows and a ‘Chance Encounter’ can be the very epitome of love that endures to fight for their destiny.

The LCR Elite has a new member in the savvy and fallen quarterback Brennan Sinclair. With a past that refuses to fade and a guilt that seems to eat him from the inside, his first mission with the LCR Elite lands him under the roof of the beautiful and wholesome Kacie Dane.

Another fallen angel to the evil of the world, enduring the naked scars of pain, Kacie Dane always has a smile for the world. Embracing her profession as a model, pouring her inner pain into Kacie Dane Foundation, she channels her nightmares into strength and courage, giving back to the world in her very small means.

ChanceEncounter-LCRElite2-July2015

But when her torturous past threatens her life, Brennan steps in with his support and empathy, love and security, and the entire LCR family weaves a shield of protection. And that very shield stokes the embers of lust and passion, and the need for companionship brings Brennan and Kacie into the folds of love.

“Chance Encounter” gives us a chance to know two wonderful characters with so much strength and courage makes us tear for their pain and loss. Two good people, who got the wrong end of the deal, yet fate throws them into the hands of destiny, smile with each other and pass those very smiles around. Christy does a stupendous job of portraying their inner demons, feelings and thoughts, that you cannot but help laugh and cry along with them.

What I love about Christy Reece is her amazing creativity of characters, so broken yet redeemable. She can write adrenaline and heart racing romantic suspense and thrillers and on the other end of the spectrum is her sublime romance and immense depth of feelings. All her stories may not have to be bloody and pure evil to send the message across. Evil and love can romance at a sublime level in her stories and she does a brilliant job of narrating them.

This is one of her very best of best works that I will revisit several times and Kacie and Brennan will take a very close second to my favorites McKenna and Luke (Last Chance).
